California Pony Cars Billet Shift Lever for 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1973 Mustangs with a T5, T45, T56, TKO500 or TKO600 Transmission.

When installing a T5, T45, T56, TKO500 or TKO600 transmission in your classic Mustang, topping the transmission with the proper shift lever is important. California Pony Cars specifically designed this shift lever for 1965-1973 Mustangs utilizing one of the late model Borg Warner Tremec transmissions. The shift lever is tall enough to offer comfortable shifts in a Mustang that was never designed to accommodate a Tremec transmission.

CPC's shift lever is made from 6061 T-6 billet aluminum and offers a clean, race inspired look with it's squared off design. This shift lever is 10-1/2" tall which means you can shift comfortably without having to over extend your reach. The shift lever features a two-bolt flange that bolts directly to Borg Warner Tremec T5, T45, T56 and TKO transmissions. Most 1983-2004 shift knobs will work with this shift lever due to the 12 x 1.75mm thread pattern. This leaves an endless amount of options for you to customize your 1965-1973 Mustang.

Installing modern parts in your classic Mustang can prove to be troublesome as many parts won't fit or will need to be modified. However, California Pony Cars is there to help you get your late model five or six speed transmission installed painlessly with their Billet Shift Lever. This is the same shift lever installed in CJ Pony Parts' Project 50/30 SEMA car which is equipped with a TKO transmission.

Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 3 out of 5 by from aluminum shifter Took months to arrive. Holes are loose fit for bolts, so not sure this will work. Looks great however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Longer than I would like I felt like Rat Fink reaching up for the shift knob so I was able to shorten this lever by 7/8". I would really like a lever that was about 3" shorter. The 12 x 1.75 thread for the knob seems kind of odd but I was able to find a knob that I like on ebay.

I just purchased a 65 mustang with a 5.0 / T5 conversion. With the boot trim in place the shifter will not go into 1st, 3rd, and 5th. Will this correct the problem? Mark

Asked by: du_cat

hi could you give me the dimensions of this shift lever. That being centre to centre, lower hole spaces, length of each 3 x straight sections and also what knobs you have available for this shift arm please? Also can you ship to Australia? Regards Matt

Asked by: geothrodog
All I have is shipping dimensions, which isn't really the true size because of the inclusion of packing materials. It's 10.5-inches long, and is available to Australia.
