Vehicle Fitment

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leaf Spring Kit Just restored my 64 1/2 Mustang. The old springs were sagging badly, shocks would bottom out on big bumps and railroad crossings, springs were flat just sitting. I am glad I went with the 5 spring kit. Car is level and rides like a dream. Doesn't feel like the same car. I put a set of wide tires and wheels on the back and was having issues with the inside fender well hitting the side wall of the new tires, that's what inspired me to change springs for bring the car back to level and no tire rub. The only problem I had was working for two days cutting all the shackle bolts to remove the old springs. Everything was rusted. Install was a breeze. That project wore me out. I am no longer afraid to go over railroad crossings, happy camper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect rake My 66 was badly sagging. I went with the 5-spring on a recommendation that it would provide a slightly improved rake from stock, but not too much. I'm glad I took the advice! It's a perfect rake and looks great on my car. Also, super easy to install.

I have a 66 mustang convertible with a 289 ci v8 and after market a/c. I'm a casual driver (no racing etc.). I recently replaced all 4 shocks and noticed the rear sits lower now. Should I purchase 4 or 4.5 or 5 leaf rear springs to restore the height?

Asked by: Frank
The springs will be the same height, the 5 leaf will be stiffer. It could be the existing springs are worn out.

i am looking to raise my rear end from the stock ride height, would these do that? if not what do you offer that can do that?

Asked by: hanscito
We do not offer springs that will raise the vehicle. We do offer adjustable shackles that has 3/8 of adjustment, https://www.cjponyparts.com/leaf-spring-shackle-kit-with-polyurethane-bushings-1965-1973/p/RSK2/

Are these standard eye leaf springs or "lowering"

Asked by: Lodico
These are standard eye springs, they do not lower the vehicle. To find all the leaf springs we offer for your application use the "Refine Your Search" option, choose your year in the drop down than in the type drop down choose leaf springs.

on 4 leaf or 5 leaf what are the differences? this should correct my ride height? rear currently sits a little lower than front and I have a rub on bumps, will a 5 leaf be a stiffer ride than a 4 leaf spring meaning less rear end up down travel ?

Asked by: Howza
The 5 leaf will be firmer and be able to carry more load than the 4 leaf springs.
