The Performance Automatic transmission is ready to install in your 1965-1966 Mustang. The transmission bell housing will work on 1965-1966 Mustangs with a 289, 302 or a 351W Engine. Performance Automatic upgrades the internals with an extra wide overdrive band, diode pack and extra 3-4 clutches making this an excellent swap into an earlier Ford.

Because of their age, transmissions in classic Mustangs can be in a huge variety of conditions, depending on how well they've been maintained and used. Some are in need of many transmission parts in order to keep working well, while others desperately need completely replaced. CJ Pony Parts has hundreds of parts for 1965-1973 Mustang transmissions, which will allow any owner to find what they need for any transmission project.

Purchase an AOD Automatic Conversion Kit for your 1965-1966 Mustang with a 289, 302 or 351W Engine from CJ Pony Parts today!

AOD Automatic Conversion Kit 289/302/351W 1965-1966 is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT A BOLT IN KIT This is the exact words of my restoration guy, who is nationally known is a Shelby/Mustang restorer, "This transmission kit is not just a bolt in kit, I have had so much trouble with it it’s disappointing. The flywheel holes didn’t align up with the torque converter and I didn’t discover it until the transmission was in and had to pull it out to make adjustments. The block plate didn’t fit good but I made it fit and when I went to install the Y pipe the block plate was in the way of the Y pipe flange so I had to trim it to fit. The Y pipe hit the transmission pan real bad so I had to cut the tube on the passenger side and reroute the pipe to clear the pan, trim the transmission cross member so the pipe would raise enough so the exhaust wasn’t hanging to low."

What is the difference between the "Performance Automatic AOD Transmission Street Smart Package 289/302/351" / "AOD Conversion Kit 1964-1966" and the "AOD Automatic Conversion Kit 289/302/351W 1965-1966" besides the price ?

Asked by: aikidokat
the PASS53103 (Street Smart ) is just the trans. The AODCK3 ( Conversion Kit ) is the whole conversion kit including the PASS53103 trans
