Convertible Top Hydraulic Lift Cylinder for 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998 Convertible Mustangs.

If you want your convertible top running at peak performance like it did from the factory, then it may be time to replace the Convertible Top Hydraulic Lift Cylinder. This lift cylinder is designed specifically as a direct-fit replacement of the OE lift cylinder on your 1994-1998 Convertible Mustang.

These cylinders wear out quite often as there is a lot of force applied when opening and closing the convertible top. OEM parts are often very expensive or no longer available. This is an affordable aftermarket replacement to get your convertible top working so you can enjoy the summer weather.

Sold individually. Fits either the driver or passenger side.

*Two required per car.

We’re with a replacement convertible top hydraulic cylinder fitting your 1994 through 1998 Mustang convertible.

The hydraulic cylinders receive pressure from the motor to put your convertible top up and down. If not working properly, many times the cylinder is the problem. These direct replacement cylinders are going to install using the factory hardware, and fit the factory lines.

Your Mustang requires two hydraulic cylinders. We do recommend replacing the lines and cylinders at the same time.

Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly. I ordered the parts on Monday, got them Tuesday (I chose to pay the extra $11 shipping), and had them installed an hour later. My top now works like it did before one of my original cylinders sprung a leak. My only suggestion is that somewhere in the package you should reference the excellent youtube video CJ Pony made about the installation procedure. Otherwise, I would have not known the specific and proper way to add fluid and bleed the system. I'm 100% happy with my purchase, and I hope they last 22 years like the original parts did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked good I bought the wrong ones for my 2001 cobra and the cylinders were much bigger on these. They did bolt right up and the top works great. Would buy again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total junk Bought these and installed as instructed in video and included instructions (plus have done this before on a 2002 and 1995 mustang, this project was a 1994). Major complaints: 1. had to hunt down nylon bushings, as this product does not come with hardware, as my vehicle had no rams in it from previous owner’s removal. 2. the threading for the hydralic lines is part of the body, and is aluminum. Without overtightening or crossthreading or mismatching new fittings, the weakly threaded body managed to disintegrate on install on one of the two rams i ordered - even with being overly careful, like the soft hands of a surgeon. Bad engineering from Ford, as OEM actually uses threaded plastic on one of the lines, and bad quality control from the aftermarket in not using a more substantial material or differentiating the threading from the body. $200 basically out the window!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I expected Bought these convertible lift cylinders and they were a direct fit, good online tutorial, they are aluminum so you must be careful when threading in the fittings. I would recommend these because I had no problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Threads are wrong So if stripped threads voids the warranty, why don’t we actually thread the cylinder with the correct thread pitch to match the flare nut????? Would I recommend? Yea to someone who really enjoys disappointment.
