Electric Fan 16" 2500Cfm With Aluminum Fan Shroud 1967-1970 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Electric Fan Son and I got it mounted today. I didn't want to zip tie it to the raditor. Due to the depth we had to mount it on the inside of the shroud. We may reduce the spacers to get some more clearance to the water pump stub. Biggest issue now is that the painless wiring kit does not include a plug to the fan itself. So the connection will not look as clean as it should.

How much current does this fan draw? I want to make sure my alternator can support the draw. Thank you!

Asked by: arizonafastback
To answer my own question: The fan pulls somewhere between 20-25 amps. This was tested very scientifically by lower the fuse rating until one blew.  It blows a 20 amp everytime during start up but never blows a 25 amp.  It may pull less than that once running though, the highest current draw tends to be at start up.

I do not want to mount the fan to the radiator like it is shown in the pictures. Can I mount it to the shroud and still have enough clearance to the water pump shaft? If not, can I mount it by offsetting it 1/4 to 1/2 down? Thanks.

Asked by: CSMJVH
I actually used this method to mount the fan in my application. The width of the fan/shroud is the exact same as if you mounted it to the radiator so there should be no fitment issues. I used some 1/4 bolts with ultra low profile heads that fit perfectly through the mounting holes in the fan, drilled some holes in the shroud for the bolts to run through, and then used some 7/8" aluminum standoffs between the fan and shroud. Make sure you use stainless steel hardware so you don't get any rusting and ruin the look of your clean aluminum shroud!

Is this a pusher fan that mounts on the front of the radiator, or a puller that mounts inside the hood area?

Asked by: bullbiker
It would be a puller.
