Jeremy: Well thanks, Freddy. This is our Force II system. It fits the 2007 to 2017 Jeep JK's, the 36 and the 38 as well as the two-door and the four-door. Nice sound. It's great for street driving. Not going to be too loud inside but it's going to the pretty aggressive outside.
Freddy: Awesome. Let's get to the installation. For this installation you'll need a lift or a jack and jack stands and also another set of hands. A 3/8" ratchet, 16mm socket, 1/2" ratchet, 15mm socket, 18mm socket and an exhaust hanger removal tool. We have the jeep up in the air. Jeremy, what's the first thing we should do?
Jeremy: We're going to start by removing the basically the stock axle-back system. That way we can kind of wiggle the rest of it. Going to start here, work our way forward.
Freddy: All right. First thing we're going to do is remove this clamp by removing the 15mm nut. We're going to remove the rubber hanger now. We're going to remove it from chassis bracket instead of the muffler bracket.
Freddy: Then remove the other rubber hanger from the muffler. Then twist the muffler and pull it off. Loosen the nut with a 15mm wrench. This clamp can be really tricky to loosen. You can't really get a socket and ratchet on there. Gotta use the wrench and apply a lot of force. The clamp can't be removed because it's welded to the pipe but once you loosen it remove all the rubber hangers. Remove the final hanger. You're probably going to run into some clearance issues when trying to remove the factory system.
As you can see right here, the resonator is hitting the EVAP canister mount. Can't really do anything about it so what we're going to do, the easiest option is drop this skid plate right here. It's only four bolts. You don't need to completely remove these two, just loosen them. Slide the exhaust back and then bring it forward. With the factory system out of the way we can now install the new Flowmaster System.
Jeremy: Now Freddy, on this one it's got two different spots here for different years. On this year we're going to be using the second one here. When you get it installed if you want you can cut this one off, leave it there. It's not going to make a difference at all.
Jeremy: Since this is a four-door we're going to be using our four-door extension pipe. If you have a two-door you simply just don't put this pipe in. Put it in the corner of the garage, save it.
Freddy: Awesome. Slide a clamp over the Y-pipe, then install your hanger over the front pipe. Connect it to the Y-pipe. Then install the hanger. Place a clamp over the front pipe, then install the extension pipe. You can actually tighten this clamp right here because there's no adjustment in it. We're going to tighten it just so it doesn't fall off. Slide a clamp over the extension pipe. Then install the over-axle pipe. Install a clamp over the muffler then install it into the over-axle pipe. Then install the tailpipe. With everything in place you can now tighten the clamps from the front to the back. Tighten all the clamps with a 15mm socket.
With everything in place you can install the hanger bracket locks. Reinstall the skid plate. And your installation's finished. All right let's hear it. Our Flowmaster Force II Cat- back Exhaust is installed. It looks great and it gives our Jeep a nice sound. Installation's not too hard. It's going to take about an hour and a half. Jeremy I want to give you a big thanks for coming out. You're a big help. You can find this exhaust along with other Flowmaster exhausts for your JK Wrangler at CJPonyParts.com.
