Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked great for me! No matter what I did i could not my car to stay on during cold starts. (Car's been sitting for a long time) I would start it and it would die a few seconds later because it couldn't hold an idle. I cleaned the throttle body and checked for vacuum leaks, changed intake and throttle body gaskets and no luck. Next I an EGR delete and replaced the TPS & IAC (they weren't giving error codes but they were very old) and again no luck. Finally I installed this adjuster and after a bit of adjusting i got the idle close to where it needed to be. Installation is simple and it does come with instructions. Ford recommends the idle be at 650 but the best I could do is +/-750. Now my car starts and stays running during cold starts. My idle does surge a slight bit up and down until the car warms up so I still have more adjusting to do but the surge is minimal and most importantly my car doesn't die anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helps prevent ISC clogging The EGR system routes exhaust gases into the intake manifold, eventually filling the ISC/BPA (idle speed control; bypass air valve) with carbon deposits and gumming it up. This adjuster provides a small, continuous flow of clean air thru the port and mostly eliminates this problem. It is a must-have for maintenance-free idling. Simply clean your ISC valve (for the last time) when you install this item.

I know it days 5.0 but would this work on a 2.3?

Asked by: Aaron187
Actually, it will work on a 2.3 engine. The IAC valves on a 5.0 and a 2.3 use the same exact mounting gasket and have the exact same sized mount pad on the engine as well. I've also used this kit as a band-aid for a 3.0 V6 with a leaky intake in an Aerostar, and on a pushrod 4.0 in a Mazda B4000.
