This specially formulated additive from Ford Performance works to provides smooth operation of clutch-type limited-slip differentials in your pony's rear end. This modifier comes in a 3.8 fluid ounce bottle, which is normally good for one full application. Ford Performance's Friction Modifier is recommended for use in 1979 to 2020 Mustangs and is compatible with other brands of gear oil. One bottle is required for rear ends equipped with Ford Performance traction-lock (Trac-Lok) units. If you're planning on a rear end fluid flush or need to swap some gears, be sure to properly prep your differentials with this modifier.

Ford Performance designed this modifier's formula to help cushion gears, which extends their life and prevents unwanted and unnecessary grinding and squeaking sounds. If you've noticed an increase in noise after a rear differential gear swap, take some time to stop and properly prep the new gears. Rated 5 out of 5 by from My mixture I've used it for my tranny back a year ago in my 99 F150. I'm real hard on my tranny. I do lots of woods riding. My tranny is in a high heat condition all the time. It's still kicking BUTT!! I put some new gears in my diff. This weekend and yep I added the Ford modifier & some Lucus snot for the extra extra protection then I added 2 pint of synthic gear oil. So far it's a perfect mixture.

Hi! 2007 Mustang GT 8.8 Rear axle. My problem: only one wheel spins in high throttle. The clutch slips. Is this a thing that prevents clutch slip? Or just dropped noise?

At this point it sounds like you will need to rebuild your differential clutch packs. Also you need to install one bottle of additive with a new gear oil change out. Gear oil replacement should be done fairly frequently for race use vehicles (or street racing abuse, etc.) - Under normal everyday driving conditions follow the recommended maintenance schedule between fluid change. Limited slip additive is designed to reduce or prevent differential clutch chatter
