Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Shift Knob-Needs a shorter reverse lockout I've yet to permanently install this shift knob because the knob when fully threaded onto the shifter does not allow the reverse lockout to engage. I realize that I can thread it only as far down and use blue loctite so that the reverse lockout still functions, but to me the solution is to have a reverse lockout collar that has been intentionally machined shorter to allow for proper engagement with this shift knob. I will likely purchase one from Steeda and make the necessary modification before I install the shift knob. The shift knob itself is a nice piece, it just would've been nice to have a complete package as an option.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great Awesome look, shifting feels better than with stock knob. I however have something to say to everyone else that want to buy this knob. Maybe it was only mine, but the stitching on it (facing the dashboard) and the lockout were very closely aligned, so that when going from reverse to normal, the lockout stays stuck and comes down very slowly (not like the stock where everything goes smoothly). Another thing which differs from my install and the one from the instructions video was how far I had to thread it down. The video shows to screw it in all to the end then one turn back to get it straight. I did this at first but realised I couldn't put it in reverse (couldn't lift the lockout high enough to engage reverse). What I did was to screw it in until I couldn't see the screw itself and got it straight. One should be very careful when applying thread-locker and realise too late that your car doesn't reverse.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality look and feel I was unhappy with that plastic look of the stock shift knob and ordered this GT350 one. It looks and feels way better than stock. However, to me shifting with the original knob was nicer. I removed the black rubber ring, too, to bring the knob 2 turns further down. Maybe this is why I feel some vibration now when hand is on the knob. Not sure wether I can recommend this product but decided for "yes".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greater leverage, less notchy, premium look & feel Fit perfectly. Removes some of the notchy MT-82 feelings. Shifter sits a touch higher, so smoother through greater leverage. Small increase in shift throw because it is a bit taller. I also removed the rubber bump ring that sits around the threading which allowed the shift knob to thread 1-2 full turns lower. Make sure you verify reverse lockout clearance before locktite. This with the GT350 steering wheel really add a premium feel to the interior and make the car feel special. I have the factory shifter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The GT 350 shift knob looks awesome! Installed the GT 350 shift knob on my 2015 GT PP and love the look. The shift knob feels good in your hand and looks much nicer than the stock knob. I highly recommend it! Just make sure not to thread the knob down too far! Make sure your reverse lock out has enough clearance to engage. Add some blue loc-tite to the threads and give it about and hour and you're good to go!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good match for the GT 350R wheel At $100 it's not the best value out there. That said, it is a perfect match for the GT350R steering wheel and when used together, make for a noticeable upgrade for the cabin. The shift knob feels good in the hand and the black chrome, red shift pattern and red ring are a big improvement over the (lets face it) cheap looking factor shift knob. For those that have the ruby red paint, the shifter carries that color theme through into the cabin and helps tie the whole car together. Definitely worth having, but perhaps not a "must have". Overall though, I would recommend it.

I'm having an issue with clearance on the stock reverse lockout and the Steeda Tri-ax lever. Is there anything I can do to make it fit, other than backing the knob off 5 or 6 threads and using loctite?

The knob has to be threaded on so the reverse lockout will work and locktited in place.

By Bill Tumas: We’re here with a Ford GT350 shift knob fitting all 2015 through 2016 Mustangs with manual transmission. Having some small custom touches from the 2015 GT350 such as the steering wheel has been a very popular modification for 2015 through 2016 Mustang users. This is the original shift knob found on your 2015 through 2016 Shelby GT350. This knob, however, normally will not fit your standard one, as a Shelby uses a different thread than your normal EcoBoost V6 or GT. These knobs that we sell at CJ Pony Parts are the original Ford knob. We modify them though so they have the correct thread that will bolt right on to your GT, V6 or EcoBoost with manual transmission.

We take the original Ford GT350 knob and we drill out and tap it for the correct 12 by 1 1/4" used on your GT, V6 or EcoBoost. To install it, all you'll want to do is remove this ring as the lock out is a slightly different size. Just remove that, unthread your factory knob, and thread this in place. Installation couldn't be easier. Grab your factory knob. Rotate it counter-clockwise. Now what you'll want to do is get a bit of Loctite. Put it on the threads. I recommend the blue as you'll have some chance of getting it off in the future where the red would be pretty much almost permanent unless you use a large wrench. Now we'll thread on your new knob. You can see the threads are now exactly the same as the original. I should mention here you remove that ring before you threaded this on. That will allow you to clear the factory lockout. In the case of our car, we actually have the Barton billet lockout which is a little bit thicker. This will not clear the billet unless you actually grind this down a little bit for clearance. If you run the stock lockout though, no problems at all, it will thread right on.

What you'll want to do is thread it until it stops. Until it bottoms out. You might get lucky, it might be perfectly straight put it's probably not going to be. Once you get there, just turn it back until it's straight. Let it set up for about an hour or so with the Loctite, and the installation's finished.
