Steeda starts with beefy 1.5 x 2 x .083 square tubing that spans the full length of the floor pan providing unmatched chassis rigidity, improved handling, and improved ride quality with reduced impact harshness.
Steeda's full length subframes are reinforced at each bend and include their exclusive torque box reinforcing plate for the strongest attachment possible to the rear subframe for maximum effectiveness.
Steeda Full length subframe connectors also feature a one-piece reinforced seat bolt cross brace. Some subframe cross braces have 8 individual gussets which must be carefully positioned and welded on. Other kits use no reinforcements at all in their cross braces. Steeda's cross braces have reinforcing gussets built-in, for greater strength with less welding.
Other full length subframe connector designs do not attach all the mounting point plates to the connector, leaving you to weld them during installation adding time and complexity. Steeda full length subframe connectors come with all mounting point tabs pre-welded to the subframe connector. Another Steeda exclusive.
Full-length subframe connectors are available in bare steel or black powdercoated finishes. The black powdercoat can be scraped and welded over, and then only the weld joints need to be spray-painted vs. the whole kit needing to be spray-painted.
Note: 1996-98 Mustang Cobras will require modifications to the transmission crossmember mounting points.
