Tools you'll need for this installation: 13mm socket, 6mm hex key, 3/8 ratchet, and a torque wrench. Okay, we're ready to install the grab handles. We're going to be inside the Jeep for the entire installation. These handles go right here on the A-Pillar, so all we need to do is remove two bolts: a 13mm bolt here and here. Be careful when we're moving this bolt. It can easily fall down the socket and fall behind the trim. Then the top bolt. Because Jeep uses Loctite on the factory hardware, it's a good idea to lubricate these bolts before installing them. Right now, we have the longer bolt that's provided. We're going to put some WD-40 on it. Then we're going to put the bolt through the lower hole in the handle, slide the sleeve over the bolt, and install into the lower hole that you just removed.
Get it started with a few threads, but don't tighten it all the way. Place the shorter sleeve on top of the handle. Then insert the bolt. Tighten both bolts up all the way. Finally, we have to torque both bolts to 25 foot-pounds. Once you've torqued both bolts, repeat the process on the other side. Then your installation's finished. Okay, so we got both grab handles installed. They're definitely going to make it a lot easier getting in and out of this Jeep. They're super durable, too. You can shake the whole Jeep with these things, and installation's not too bad. It should only take about 15 to 20 minutes, and before you know it, you'll be heading off road.
