Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality If you have a choice, go with Scott Drake. The cheaper price of others may be attractive now, but you will NEVER be sorry with Scott Drake. We have owned this 1968 coupe since new and I always go with quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits the bill, but can't understand the cost Good quality part that fit the bill. Still can't wrap my head around the cost, though. I have to imagine these are being repopped for pennies.

will this fit an Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold for a 289?

Asked by: pushman
Unfortunately what CJ will not tell you is that this fitting has to be relocated when upgrading to the Edelbrock Performer manifold. I have the 2121 for my 289. The fitting for the heater hose is meant originally to be on the rear of the manifold but there is no port due to the fact that there is no rear transverse coolant channel. This means that it cannot even be tapped. This is, in my opinion, a serious design flaw with the Edelbrock Performer. The only port for coolant flow to the heater system is in the front behind the water neck (thermostat housing) and immediately in front of the intake channel to the #1 cylinder. Due to the height of the intake channel and its proximity to the coolant port the fitting will not tighten. You will need to use a reducing adapter, which is provided with the Edelbrock manifold and will help raise the fitting somewhat, but not enough to clear the intake. Additionally, I upgraded my distributor to HEI which is somewhat larger than a stock distributor. This creates another fitment issue with the height and placement of the fitting. I am, at this point, still trying to engineer a fix to these issues. CJPP does not tell you this because they don't actually work on engines in the same way that their customers do.
