Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Carb Love It This thing runs really well with my new 302. First time setting up with a carb from the ground up and it's pretty easy to work with. Only tough part is rigging your own rod and spring to it with an aftermarket intake because it won't hook straight up to the stock rod...but I relished the challenge. I'm especially heartned how easily this baby snaps the engine to life even on a cold day with that electric choke. Mounted up choke wire very easily to the 12v key-hot side of the alternator stator. Very happy with this carb! Disproves all the bad old things I've heard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1966 Mustang 289 4v Holley 4160 Carburetor install 66 Mustang 289 with Ford 4V intake, old Carb was very hard to start. Required items to test 4160-C 600 CFM Polished Holley carburetor: 1: Holley HLY-20-72 Rubbery gasket kit 2: Holley HLY-20-72 Carburetor Solenoid bracket 3: Dash Pot 62-67 Ford C2DZ-9B549-A 4: 3/16" Vaccum Hose, 5/16" fuel line hose & Fuel Filter. 5: Scott Drake C5ZZ-9A702-BL Throttle Linkage Carburetor bolted to V8 4v Carb intake with no modifications. Adjusted Throttle idle screw, air/fuel screws and cold start fast idle screw, carb was good to go- worked really great, very happy with the purchase from CJ Pony. Dash pot Bracket bolted to carburetor as designed with NO modifications required. Dash pot shaft required 3/8 inch shorter modification so the throttle linkage could return the throttle valve to the closed position.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy install , easy adjustments ordered this for a 1966 mustang , the engine is a stock 289 with a 66 4 bbl ford intake. when I unpacked the carb, I found one air/fuel mixture screw was closed and the other was 1/2 turn out, I followed direction and opened both 1.5 turns, the engine started and ran good, I've tuned the carb and now both screws are opened 1 turn each and my stang runs great from idol, to full throttle..best purchase I've made. shipping was great and came a day early. thanks c j pony parts

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Installation & Great Performance I purchased the Holley 4160 Series 600 cfm for my 1968 Mustang California Special equipped with a stock 302 cu. in. engine. Installation was a breeze and my Mustang is running better than ever. The only adjustment needed was curb the idle. Everything else was adjusted perfectly by Holley at their factory. Great bolt on and go carburetor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have rebuilt the old Holley twice Finally I decided to give up and buy a new Holley with the electric choke, I dont remember ever when the car ran smother or better. It might be nice to keep the old one that came with the car but its not worth stalling so much and the frustration. Love the way it runs now

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cant Go Wrong With Holley 1966 Ford Mustang, its great, i still do recommend tuning/ adjusting the carb after install, mine was running extremely rich but adjusting idle screws cleaned that right up and runs like a champ.

I have a 1970 302 with an automatic, C4 trans. Will i need to modify anything with the throttle linkages on the carb for it to be compatible with the kickdown rod? I've read a lot about edelbrocks having aftermarket linkages. Car is all original.

Asked by: jacks_302

I have a stock 1983 GLX, 5.0L 5 speed...will this bolt on with no modifications or alterations (bolt pattern)? will the linkage be compatible? thanks

Asked by: 1983GLX
This would not be a direct fit. The intake should be changed. The vacuum and fuel lines would have to me modified or changed. The throttle linkage would work.
