1. To start the installation of your new COBB Tuning 591202 Downpipe with Catalytic Converters, jack the car up and place jack stands under it. Remove negative battery cable.

2. Pull the plastic clip off of the metal tab just behind the fuel pump. Move the line out of the way.

3. Behind the metal tab is the wire for the upstream O2 Sensor. The connector of the wire is attached to the metal tab. Pull the connector straight back toward the firewall to detach it.

4. Disconnect the wires by squeezing the plastic tab then pulling the two halves apart.

5. Follow the wire with your hand toward the downpipe and you will feel a clip that is holding the wire to a metal line. Pull the wire out of the open end of the clip.
6. Go under the car and use the Torx screwdriver to remove the screws holding the under tray to the car.

7. Locate the downstream O2 sensor and follow the wire from the sensor toward the top of the engine until you feel the plastic connector. Disconnect the connector by squeezing the tab while pulling the two halves apart.

8. Use a 15mm socket and ratchet to remove the bolts that hold the brace to the bottom of the car.

9. Use a 13mm socket and ratchet to loosen the V-Band clamp that holds the downpipe to the turbo.

10. Tap the edge of the three segments of the V-Band clamp with a flat head screw driver and hammer to jostle them loose.

11. Remove the downpipe hanger by removing the two 10mm bolts.

12. Use a 14mm socket and a 14mm wrench to disconnect the downpipe from the Focus ST exhaust.

13. Push the exhaust out of the way while you pull the downpipe toward the back of the car. Be careful not to damage the O2 sensors as you remove it.
14. Pull the rubber hanger off of the downpipe and push it onto the new COBB Tuning downpipe.

15. Remove the metal gasket from the turbo end of the downpipe and put it to the side.

16. Remove the O2 sensors using a 7/8-inch wrench or O2 wrench from the downpipe, put some never-seize on the threads, and install them into the COBB downpipe.

17. Put the COBB dowpipe up under the car and line it up with the turbo. Place the metal gasket on the end of the downpipe before connecting the downpipe to the turbo. Slide the V-Band clamp over the two parts.

18. Use the 2-1/2-inch gasket or the 3-inch gasket provided by COBB to go between the downpipe and the exhaust (depending on what diameter the exhaust is). Install the original bolt and nut to attach the downpipe to the exhaust. Snug up the nut.

19. Reattach the hanger by installing and tightening the original 10mm bolts.

20. Reinstall the brace with the 15mm bolts.

21. Tighten the V-Band clamp on the turbo. Tap the clamp with a hammer around the outside of it as you tighten to make it tighten evenly. Then tighten the exhaust bolts.

22. Reattach the wires for the O2 Sensors and push the wires back into the wire clips that hold them out of the way.

23. Push the one O2 connector onto the back of the metal tab behind the fuel pump. Push the wire holder back onto the metal tab.

24. Place the under tray back into place and secure it with the original Torx screws. Remember that the shorter screws go in the front of the tray and the longer ones go in the back.

25. Reconnect your battery. A tune is strongly recommended to ensure safe engine parameters during operation. Enjoy your new COBB Tuning Downpipe with Catalytic Converters,.
