Mustang Airaid MXP Series GT Cold Air Intake Kit (2011-2014) Installation Instructions
2011-2014 Mustang Airaid MXP Series GT Cold Air Intake Kit
This MXP Series Cold Air Intake Kit with Blue SynthaMax filter from Airaid will fit all 2011-2014 Mustang GTs.
For performance, the engine in your 2011-2014 Mustang GT needs the most cool air it can get. The factory air intake isn't going to allow this and restricts your Mustang from peak performance. To combat this, install the Airaid MXP Series Cold Air Intake with SynthaMax filter, which is computer designed to allow your 2011-2014 Mustang GT to have the highest level of performance possible.

1. To start the installation of your Mustang Airaid 453-264 MXP Series Cold Air Intake Kit with SynthaMax filter, disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the four 13mm bolts holding the Mustang strut tower brace and remove the engine cover.

3. Loosen the hose clamp (8mm) on the throttle body. Disconnect clamps on the sound tube and crankcase line and move them off to the side.

4. Disconnect the MAF wire from the MAF sensor by pulling the red tab.
5. Remove the wiring from the intake tube (white Christmas tree fastener).

6. Remove the single (10mm) bolt holding the factory Mustang GT cold air intake to the fender. To make it easier, I used a socket extender. You will reuse this bolt.

7. Pull up on the intake assembly, remove it and set it off to the side.
8. On the air intake tube, install the 5/8-inch grommet and the 5/8-inch fitting, as all models will require it.

9. If you have a Mustang automatic transmission, you will need to use the 3/8-inch grommet and fitting.
10. If you decide to remove the sound tube, install the rubber cap with the (60mm) hose clamp and snap the firewall plug into the firewall hole.

11. If using a tune, remove the MVT. If not, install the MVT and make sure it lines up for the MAF sensor.

12. Remove the MAF sensor from the stock intake tube and install it with the two included button head bolts.

13. Install the filter adapter using the included three bolts, with washers, on the air box.

14. Install the hump hose onto the filter adapter using two #72 hose clamps. Keep the clamps loose to help with the installation.

15. Transfer the factory air box mounting grommets to the inside fender and the upper air box mounting grommet in to the new Mustang GT cold air intake.

16. Install the Mustang cold air intake into the vehicle. Make sure to align the factory duct and the two rubber grommets on the bottom of the intake. Install the factory bolt (10mm).

17. Install the silicone reducer on to the Mustang throttle body and slide on the two hose clamps put the #56 clamp on. The first points towards the throttle body, then add the #64 clamp.

18. Install the intake tube in to the silicone reducer and hump hose, then tighten all hose clamps.

19. Reconnect the sound tube if your using it as well as the breather line; if you have an automatic, there will be two lines.

20. Install the Mustang air filter on to the filter adapter and tighten the hose clamp.

21. Reconnect the MAF sensor. Make sure the red tab is snapped in tight.

22. Install the weatherstrip on to the new Airaid air box.

23. Reinstall the Mustang intake manifold cover and the strut tower brace. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

24. Do one final check over and make sure everything looks right then go ahead and start it and enjoy your new Mustang Airaid MXP Series Cold Air Intake Kit with SynthaMax filter.
