- WD-40
Install Difficulty:
- Easy Project
1. To start installing your new Mustang Ford Tooling Quarter Window Weatherstrip, remove the door post seal at the base of the quarter window.
2. With the window rolled all the way up, remove the screw at the angled part of the bottom of the weatherstrip.

3. The Mustang weatherstrip simply installs by sliding into a track in the window. The weatherstrip needs to slide down to be removed. It may be necessary to give it some gentle persuasion by carefully prying down at the top with a flat head screwdriver or small pry bar at the location shown in the picture.

4. If the weatherstrip cannot be broken free enough to easily slide down, it may need to ripped out. This weatherstrip was stubborn and would not slide out. A pair of pliers were used to grasp the weatherstrip to carefully pull it out of the track. If removing stubborn weatherstrip while the window is installed, the Mustang window glass needs to be well supported to avoid binding and/or damaging the regulator.

5. If the weatherstrip can be broken free to slide, slide it down the window until it is free.

6. Lubricate the weatherstrip track of the window with some WD-40, and lightly lubricate the part of the weatherstrip that will slide into the track as well. WD40 will not harm rubber. Install the new weatherstrip the same way it was removed, and it will easily slide into place in the Mustang quarter window assembly.
7. Replace the screw at the bottom and reinstall Mustang door post seals.

8. Now the Mustang Ford Tooling Quarter Window Weatherstrip is completely installed, and because it is Ford tooling, it is an exact fit.
