7. Installation of the new hose can now be completed by following the removal instructions in reverse. Make sure that all connections are clean so you do not risk contaminating the new fluid or components. Always start threaded fittings by hand. Never use a wrench to start a threaded fitting as you can cross thread or damage the threads. Also be sure that the new hose and tubing are correctly aligned so it does not rub on anything that would cause damage or failure.
8. Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and fill the Mustang power steering pump with fluid to the correct level.
9. Start the vehicle and slowly turn the steering wheel all the way both left and right. You might hear some whining noise from the pump for a few seconds as the air bleeds out of the system. This noise will stop. Recheck the fluid level and top off if needed.
10. Check the Mustang steering hose you just installed for any leaks.
11. The installation of you new Mustang power steering return hose is finished! Enjoy the test drive.
