Tools Required:
- Pliers
- Paper Clip or Safety Pin
Install Difficulty:
- Easy Project
1. To start the installation of your new Mustang Scott Drake C3UZ-11572-A Ignition Switch Assembly, disconnect positive battery terminal.
2. Insert a paper clip or safety pin into the hole just below the key. While pushing in on the paper clip, turn the key to the left past the “ACC” position to about the 9 o’clock position. The cylinder of the Mustang ignition switch will now come out.

3. While holding the bezel, reach under the dash, turn, push in, then turn the ignition switch counter clockwise to release it from the Mustang ignition switch bezel.

4. Remove the nut and the accessory wire from the back of the switch. Remove the connection plug from the old switch and plug it into the new ignition switch. Put on the accessory wire and tighten the nut.

5. Put the Mustang ignition switch spacer on the new ignition switch, then twist it to lock it into place.

6. Make sure the bezel is oriented correctly and fully seated.
7. Push the switch back into place on the Mustang steering column and twist while holding the bezel to lock it in place. This alignment can be a bit tricky.
8. Reinstall the ignition cylinder. Remember the Mustang key is at the 9 o’clock position. You no longer need the paper clip. Push in and turn to “off” position.

9. Once you have made sure the switch moves properly to all its positions, you can hook the battery back up. The installation of your new Mustang Scott Drake Ignition Switch Assembly is now complete.
