Tools Required:
- 3/8-inch Socket
- 11/32-inch Socket
- Ratchet
- Door Trim Removal Tool
- Flat Head Screw Driver
Install Difficulty:
- Easy Project

1. If you want your new Mustang window mounted remote passenger side exterior mirror to have a finish other than what it comes with from CJ's, begin your installation by masking the glass. Then prep and paint the mirror in the color that you want.

2. Open your passenger door and locate the Mustang side view mirror cover in the top left corner. Use a Phillips screw driver to remove the screw that holds the cover on.

3. Feel around the right side of the Mustang door panel for areas where the door panel is attached to the metal door. You can pull the door panel away slightly to see where the pins are that hold the panel on. Use a trim tool to pry these pins out of the metal door.

4. After the right side is pried free, move to the bottom of the door panel and the left side of the door panel to remove the remaining Mustang door panel clips.

5. Remove the screw that holds the Mustang interior door handle bezel in place.

6. Use a small flat head screw driver to gently pry the two Mustang armrest hole plugs out.

7. Use a 3/8-inch socket to remove the bolts that secure the Mustang armrest pad to the door. Use a screw driver to remove the screw from the front part of the armrest.

8. Slide the door panel upward to remove it from the metal door. Place the door panel out of the way. You can remove the wire connectors that go to the Mustang power door lock switch and window controls or leave them connected.

9. Peel away the cardboard water shielding between the interior door handle and the lower door speaker. Locate the plastic clip which holds the wiring for the remote exterior mirror.

10. Push the clip out of the metal and disconnect the wire connector.

11. Locate the two nuts that hold the exterior mirror to the door. Remove the nuts with using the 11/32-inch socket.

12. Use the trim removal tool to lightly pry up on the exterior door molding closest to the exterior mirror. Work your way toward the back of the door until the mirror is able to be pulled from the door.

13. Place the new Mustang body side mirror in place of the old one. Feed the wire through the hole and down to the wire connector.

14. Connect the wires back together. Test the mirror to make sure it moves using the switch.

15. Push the wire connector clip back into the metal on the door.

16. Reinstall the nuts onto the mirror studs and tighten them.

17. Put the top of the door panel over the metal door and slide it downward into place. Don’t forget to reconnect the wires for the door switches if you disconnected them.
18. Push around the outside edge of the door panel to reconnect the plastic pushpins to the Mustang door.
19. Reinstall the screw and bolts that hold the armrest onto the door. Push the plastic bolt covers back into the armrest.

20. Reinstall the triangle cover and tighten the Mustang interior mirror cover mounting screw. Do not over tighten the screw because it could crack the plastic.

21. Reinstall the interior door handle bezel and tighten the screw. Do not over tighten the Mustang interior door bezel screw because it could crack the plastic.

22. Make sure all of the bolts and screws are tight. Adjust the mirror and your Mustang window mounted remote passenger side exterior mirror installation is finished.
