If you have a 2005 through 2006 Mustang and didn't get this style of cover, today we're going to show you how to install this Power by Ford cover, and while we're at it, we're going to add this CPC throttle body cover as well.
For this installation you'll need a 1/4 inch ratchet, 8mm deep socket and a short extension.
Here you can see what we mean by the factory manifold. It's just kind of boring looking. Our manifold cover is going to be a nice upgrade. First step: remove the two bolts off the top of the throttle body. We're going to pull these rear clips off the studs to access the stud. You want to be extra careful on this side. This is going to be the vacuum line that goes to your fuel pressure module. You want to make sure that doesn't get unplugged.
Now we're going to install the two studs that are found in our intake manifold cover hardware kit. Now we're going to grab our new "Powered by Ford" cover, put it down here and slide it over the studs, and press it down over the rear studs.
We're going to reinstall the wiring harness and then the hose on the other side. Again here, double check to make sure the line did not come off the module or the t-fitting back here. Now we're going to loosely install the two front retaining nuts; just get them on a couple threads each. Now we can put on the throttle body cover.
The intake manifold cover is designed to be used with a stock throttle body and has this cut-out in the middle. It can be used with aftermarket throttle bodies but will require trimming. The same thing goes for the throttle body cover. It's designed for a stock throttle body and a stock air inlet but can be trimmed to fit other designs.
I'm going to slide our throttle body cover over the studs, slide it down into place and tighten it down, and our installation is finished.
Our intake manifold and throttle body cover combination made a huge improvement in our engine bay. Installation should only take you around 20 minutes. You'll be back on the road in no time. For more helpful install videos like this one, make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel.
