Features and Benefits:
- Direct-Fit Upgrade for the Driver Side of 2018-2022 GT Mustangs
- Holds 3oz of Fluid
- Billet Aluminum Construction
- Black Anodized Finish
- Multi-Stage Filter System
- Easy Plug-and-Play Installation
- Helps Keep Engine Oil Clean to Extend Performance Upgrades

Your all-new GT Mustang's PCV aids in venting pressure from the crankcase back into the intake system, but that also means oil vapors pass through and collect in the intake tube, intake manifold runners or even collect in your gas tank, diluting your fuel.

A knurled tank base allows for easy disposal of the collected oil, while an O-ring keeps the seal tight to prevent leaks. J&L Oil Separator Co. designs and builds its products in the USA to be a direct-fit upgrade and a plug-and-play install.

JLT Performance has worked to expand plug-and-play applications within the automotive industry. With the same great products, JLT Performance formally introduces the J&L Oil Separator Company, specializing in oil separators.

*This oil separator is NOT designed for use with GT Mustangs that have a supercharger already installed.

Tech Tip: Once installed, CJ Pony Parts recommends checking the contents of your new oil separator every 1,000 miles until a baseline is established. Oil blow-by accumulation will vary with ambient temperatures and driving conditions. It is important that the contents of the can will not rise above the 3oz. capacity.

For years we've preached about the benefits of an oil separator. I even did a video showing you how one works and the amount of oil that actually comes out of them, so today we're going to increase the safety and protection on our 2018 Mustang GT with JLT's new driver side oil separator.

Now, this is the driver side oil separator from JLT that's going to fit your 2018 through 2019 Mustang GT, and it'll also fit your new Mustang Bullitt. Now, I already have the passenger side on this car, and the passenger side will collect a little more oil than the driver side, but the driver side will provide additional protection. It's going to be the same can that's on the other side, so it's the 3.0 version, holds three ounces of fluid, and to drain it you simply unthread it, and in here you can see the filtration system inside.

For this installation, you need a 1/4" ratchet, 10mm socket, 11mm wrench, and a Phillips head screwdriver. And if you do have a strut tower brace, you will need a 3/8" ratchet and a 15mm socket.

Before we begin the installation, JLT does recommend the removal of the sound Symposer tube, which really doesn't do anything on your Mustang. It runs back to the interior, and just transmits the sound to inside. They include the pieces to do so, and the reason they recommend it is this mounting location right here is used for your oil separator. Now, if you have a Symposer and want to keep it, you can sort of work around it, but it's going to be a much cleaner install to get rid of it, and the parts are included to do so.

If you do have a strut brace, you'll want to remove that first, but now we can remove the factory line. Now, JLT doesn't recommend removing the engine cover. You can if you want to, but I found it really isn't necessary. You're going to reach your hand down in here in the bottom, there's a little gray tab. Pop that line off there, reach over here on the side, do the same thing, and remove the stock line.

Now we have our separator here. We'll feed this line through to the front. Connect that to our cold air kit. They're factory-style fittings, so they'll plug right in. Go ahead and feed this down here where the bracket's going to mount.

Now feed the lines where they kind of fit the car the best. There's no real definite way to do it. Basically, what we're going to is we're going to mount it right here, so make sure the lines have plenty of clearance, then we're going to install the bracket. Okay, and we'll take the bracket over to here, supplied bolt and nut through the bottom. Tighten it down, and your installation is finished.

The JLT oil separator on the driver side now will provide additional protection for our engine by keeping oil vapors out of the PCV going back through the intake, which can damage the engine. Now, I do suggest if you're going to install this, I would get the matching passenger side as well, and we have a video for that installation too. As far as the installation goes on this, it's a 15-minute install and you'll be back on the road in no time.
