It's going to work with all your OE electronics, and only requires a cleaning after 50,000 miles of use. Our 2008 Jeep Wrangler, could use a little bit more power, so let's get to the install. The installation of this air filter is super simple. We've got our hood popped. And all we have to do is remove the few clips around this air box, pull out your old filter, and then reinstall the new K&N filter. There are four clips on the outside of this air box. There's two up here, pull them towards you, and they'll pull off. There's one down here. It's kind of hard to see. And then there's one back here underneath the inlet tube. And the top of the box should just pull right off towards you.
Our factory filter has seen better days. There's a ton of gunk inside here, and I'm really glad we're going to be swapping it out with a new K&N filter. Let's get it installed. Go ahead and grab your new filter, and this little lip is going to stick down when you put it inside here. The upper edge is going to make that seal around the top of the box. It simple slides in, then you reattach the clasps.
With it in, now we can push the top of the air box back into place. Get the clasps back attached. And your installation's complete. And that finishes up the install of the K&N drop-in air filter on our 2008 Wrangler. This isn't necessarily the most fun install, however it is going to give us some more performance and more throttle back to our Wrangler.
