The kit comes with a super bright 30 inch LED light bar with a spot and floodlight combination and heavy-duty steel brackets that we'll bolt directly to the hood, and it has its own wiring harness. It's gonna give our Jeep a nice rugged look, while improving all forward visibility, so today, we're gonna install it on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler.
Tools you'll need for this installation, 3/8" ratchet, 13mm socket, T-47 Torx bit, and basic wiring tools.
The very first thing we're gonna do is remove the four T-47 Torx bolts on the hinges on the hood. The kit comes with four spacers. You're gonna put one spacer over each hole on top of the hood hinge. Place the bracket on top of the spacers, and put the provided bolts through the spacers into the hood. Tighten them down, and repeat the process for the other hinge.
With both brackets installed, you can now install the light. Install the provided bolts. Get the light where you want to. Adjust the tilt to your liking, and then tighten the bolts all the way.
This kit does come with its own wire harness and switch for an easy installation, but we're gonna wire ours up to our tri-rocker system, but you can do it anyway you would like.
Here we are about 15 feet away from a wall, and the only thing we have lit up is the KC light bar. As you can see, it is incredibly bright, and it has a nice wide pattern. It's really gonna help out when we're off-road.
Our KC hood light bar is installed. It is incredibly bright, and it gives our Jeep a nice rugged look. Installation would take you about an hour, and before you know it, you'll be heading off-road.
