The factory door hinges on a JK Wrangler can corrode and start to chip their paint over time. So today we're going to cover them up with these Kentrol door hinge covers, fitting your 2007 to 2018 two-door Jeep Wrangler.
These door hinge overlays are made of high-quality three to four stainless steel with a beautiful polished finish that'll cover up your old corroded hinges for a clean and premium look without having to remove or replace the actual hinges. And the best part? They're super easy to install.
Now this kit that we're gonna be installing today is for a two-door Jeep. We do offer a four-door kit available as well. Now we'll see we're gonna be installing this two-door kit on our four-door Wrangler, but it doesn't really matter. It's all the same.
So we're gonna start off by removing one bolt at a time on the door hinge. Grab yourself a T47 Torx bit and remove one of the bolts on the hinge. I would not recommend removing both at this time. Just do one at a time because we will be replacing these bolts with bolts that come with the kit. Tighten it down and do the same thing for the other one.
Okay, we have both bolts installed. Before we install the overlay on this hinge, we're gonna make it nice and clean. Our Jeep is a little dirty like it should be, so we're gonna wipe the hinge down with alcohol to make sure it's nice and clean so the hinge cover can properly stick to it.
To install the hinge cover, all you need to do is peel the backing off the 3M tape and then put the hinge cover on. Get the hinge cover lined up, press it on, and then hold it there for about 30 seconds to make sure it stays.
All right. It stuck nice and good. Now we're gonna do the same thing to the rest of the hinges.
Okay. We have our door hinge covers installed. They cover up our corroded hinges nicely. I think these would look best on a black Jeep. Installation's super easy though. It should only take about 15 to 20 minutes, and before you know it, you'll be heading off-road.
