Product Description

Magnaflow Clamp-In Stainless Steel Tru-X Resonated X-Pipe for all 2015, 2016 and 2017 GT Mustangs.

CJ Pony Parts has an exclusive part for your 2015-2017 GT Mustang, the Magnaflow 1004384 Clamp-In Stainless Steel Tru-X Resonated X-Pipe is only available right here!

If you are running long tube headers, muffler deletes or an aggressive axle-back, this Clamp-In Stainless Steel Tru-X Resonated X-Pipe from Magnaflow is for you. Deleting your factory resonator will add potentially unwanted gains to your volume and raspiness. The only option to avoid that unwanted noise was to pay an exhaust shop to fabricate and weld up something that was not a modular solution, but not anymore. Now you can achieve that x-pipe sound, increase flow, maintain a deep tone and not add additional raspiness with Magnaflow's Clamp-In Stainless Steel Tru-X Resonated X-Pipe.

This exclusive Clamp-In Stainless Steel Tru-X Resonated X-Pipe from Magnaflow is constructed of 100% 409 stainless steel. To deliver a smooth, deep tone, stainless mesh wrap and acoustical fiber fill are utilized. In an effort to ensure that smooth, deep tone you are looking for does not diminish over time this X-Pipe is packed to the gills with acoustic fiber fill. The dual intakes measure in at 2-1/4 inches and the corresponding outputs measure in at 2-1/2 inches to maintain the free-flow straight-through the perforated stainless steel core.

Features and Benefits:
- Free-flowing, straight-through perforated stainless steel core
- Stainless mesh wrap and acoustical fiber fill to deliver a smooth, deep tone
- Packed tight with acoustic material to ensure long life and no sound degradation over time
- 100% 409 stainless steel construction
- Dual 2-1/4" in and 2-1/2" out design
- Cut and clamp installation
- No welding required
- Includes necessary clamps
- Weighs 14.7 lbs.
- Made in the USA

If you have already paired a resonator delete with your long tube headers, muffler deletes or aggressive axle-backs and you want to tame it down a bit without sacrificing that deep tone this exclusive, resonated X-Pipe is your solution. Don't reinstall your factory resonator or have an exhaust shop weld something up when this new X-Pipe will solve your problem without breaking the bank or undoing your performance upgrades.

Designed and engineered to share the same mounting locations and dimensions of the most popular and largest resonator delete, this Magnaflow 1004384 Clamp-In Stainless Steel Tru-X Resonated X-Pipe is a direct swap for anyone that already has that resonator delete installed. If your current resonator delete in not an exact swap for this exclusive X-pipe a simple trim off of your existing tailpipe will give you all the room you need to complete the clamp-in installation. This cut and clamp installation requires no welding and this exclusive X-pipe comes with the required clamps.

Please Note: Installation requires cutting of the factory exhaust piping. Once the modifications have been made to the factory exhaust system, Installation is a simple bolt-in procedure using the included clamps.

*Fits all 2015-2017 Mustang GT Fastbacks and Convertibles.
*This part is exclusive to CJ Pony Parts.

Magnaflow X-Pipe Tru-X Resonated Stainless Steel Clamp-In GT 2015-2017 is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted Couple this resonated x with my Magnaflow Competition axle back. Slight increase in volume compared to stock resonator. But gave my 2017 GT a deep amarican muscle sound. This combination is much louder than stock mufflers. You hear it in the cockpit as you go through the gears but no rasp or drone. I had local shop weld it in for 100 bucks. If you install yourself, follow the instructions from Bill in the video. The written instructions are inadequate and inaccurate. This is the exact sound that I was looking for. This flow through combination has also increased gas mileage and throttle response.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toned Down the Cabin Drone I already had Pypes Exhaust Pipe Bombs on my 2016. The drone was kinda obnoxious with the stock resonator. Plenty loud, but too loud at around 2000rpm. I installed the Magnaflow X-pipe Trudgen's-X and it made a huge difference. The drone is much reduced, but I still get that nice muscle car growl coming out of the tail! A word regarding the install. I ended up having to take the entire exhaust out and reinstall it as if it were a cat back. i couldn't get the the cat pipes and the resonator to line up. I think the instructions that come with it need some work. It said trim 4" from the weld on the factory resonator, but I ended up trimming more like 4 1/2 off to fit it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super mellow with great tone! I have very particular taste in how I want my exhaust to sound. The factory system was simply far too quiet for me and had limited character. I replaced it with the Ford Performance by Borla Touring exhaust. That removes the factory resonator and includes an X-pipe. I found this to be too raspy and louder than I expected...very much louder than factory. I tried an H-pipe instead and preferred the overall sound but it didn't help the raspy sound and was probably even louder. When I came across this resonated X-pipe from Magnaflow I was very intrigued and ordered right away. I was amazed at how it has completely eliminated the rasp from the exhaust but kept the great tone I was looking for. It also quieted down the overall volume substantially while still being quite a good step louder than factory. Very happy with this part! Kind of expensive though...that would be my only complaint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I got the MBRP and had a loud drone My MBRP cat back race was WAY too loud and have a horrible drone on the highway. I added this x pipe resonator and got better performance better back pressure which is needed in natural aspirated engine. My drone went away 100% I can talk on the phone on the highway and no more raspy tuner sound. Just a deep muscle car rumble and my fuel economy went up 2 mpg on highway getting 27 mpg now on highway. I recommend this for anyone looking for a system. The H pipe was horrible on the MBRP. I wish I knew this before would have saved a lot of cash. Order this and a axle back and your golden. I had to modify and weld to make all 3 inch. But I wanted everything welded and no clamps anyway :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MF X-pipe Resonator Had this on the car for a week now, I'm very happy and it was nice to get rid of the stock one. This deepened the tone of an already deep sounding Roush quad tip axlebacks. I had an exhaust leak at my flex pipe, got that changed to a solid pipe at the same time of install so technically it made it quieter in the cab but everyone else says it's a little louder and deeper behind the car.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neighbor Friendly I installed this with a SLP axle-back and the sound is quite subtle, yet deep and throaty. The two together give it a sound that has more growl than the stock exhaust of course but it is also very neighbor friendly. It has no harmonic resonance (no drone) to worry about as well. If you are looking to be heard this is not the way to go. If you’re looking for that extra 'something' the way the Ford should have made it sound, then this might be a good option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works beautifully!! After installing a ford racing x pipe and Roush axlebacks on my 2015 GT (with Roush TVS) it was way too loud & raspy, quite obnoxious to be honest. This item gave me the deeper tone and about a 40% volume reduction that I was looking for.... and hallelujah !! the rasp was gone!!!! Also incase you were wondering... absolutely no drone at Hwy speed. Thank you CJ & Magnaflow!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Magnaflow X-Pipe Tru-X Resonated Stainless Steel This will quiet your system substantially. My previous setup on my 2015 GT was a Roush X pipe and Roush single tip axleback mufflers. This setup was way too loud and after installing this product it returned the exhaust system almost to stock quiet with a better sound signature. This was a great option for anyone that installed an X pipe and decides that it is too loud for a day to day driver. On a side note if you are replacing a Roush X pipe the length is the same so there is no additional cutting involved.

I have the Corsa Sport catback system and I want to eliminate the Corsa double X pipe and put this in it's place. Will this be a direct bolt on or will there be cutting involved?

Asked by: Rylo Ken
It would not be a direct bolt-on in your particular application. I am sure that there would be some cutting and possibly welding involved.

How much louder Is this X-pipe than the oem resonator?  Is a H - pipe louder than this X - Pipe?

Asked by: Kahle93
This will be slightly louder then the OEM resonator, the biggest change will be with the tone. X-Pipes tend to be louder then H-Pipes.

I have the magnaflow competition axleback with stock resinator . Will this connect straight to the axleback , will there be any cutting involved

Asked by: Ajclark
No, this will not connect directly up to that axle-back. You will have to cut after the resonator and there will be a small amount of your factory piping that will remain between the two pieces.

Do you know the dimensions of the actual resonator section? I currently have a h pipe with roush axlebacks and it is way to raspy. It sounds great under 3k rpm and then sounds horrible. Will this help get rid of the rasps?

Asked by: Matt345
When we had this produced, we made sure it shared the same dimensions as the largest and most popular resonator delete that we offer. That way it should bolt right for the majority of people. If your existing h-pipe is slightly smaller then that, you will simply have to trim a small amount off of your piping. This is designed to get rid of the rasp that you speak of.

I'm looking to keep the stock exhaust and just want a slightly deeper tone. Originally thinking h-pipe, but could this also be an option?

Asked by: Apla
Absolutely. It sounds like this could potentially provide you with the exact tone that you are looking for.

Magnaflow X-Pipe Tru-X Resonated Stainless Steel Clamp-In GT 2015-2017 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: A resonator delete has become one of the most popular modifications to the S550 Mustang. The factory resonator is very heavy and very restrictive, so deleting it is a great way to add some sound and shave some weight from your car. The problem a lot of people have, including ourselves with our 2015 GT, is when you go to a really aggressive muffler, sometimes it's just too loud with a resonator deleted. If that's the case, now we're going to offer this MagnaFlow Tru-X resonator, which will fit all 2015 through 2017 Mustang GTs.

This MagnaFlow Tru-X resonated exit pipe will be a direct replacement for the factory resonator on your 2015 through 2017 Mustang GT. It features an internal X design to provide plenty of flow and a very good sound, as well. For this installation, we'll need a lift or a jack and jack stands, 3/8" ratchet, 15 millimeter socket, file, sawzall, and safety glasses.

Here you can see the factory resonator. Like I said, it's very heavy, and it's very restrictive. The MagnaFlow is going to replace it. You'll notice the one end has a little kick out here. That's going to go on the passenger's side. What you're going to want to do is basically hold it up, line it up in the middle of these front clamps here, and then we'll mark the back for where we're going to cut. We have the MagnaFlow pipe up into place, lined up in the front, and again, you can see back here. What you're going to want to do is you want to get a cut right in this area here. Basically just like the width of your finger past this curve, and we're going to cut both pipes off.

All right, with the resonator cut now, the tail pipe to remove it, you're going to loosen these four nuts here to remove the clamps. Before we install our new pipe, we're just going to clean up our cuts a little bit, make sure there's nothing sticking out so the pipe fits cleanly. We're going to put the clamps on first, and we're also going to take the clamps off the front here and put them on, as well. Then slide it over the pipes. All right, if I can get it straight, I'm going to push it up into place, and slide the clamps over the front pipes.

All right, now, once you've adjusted everything, you can tighten up the rear clamps, then re-tighten the front. All right, double check and make sure everything is tight, and make sure the tips are aligned properly, and your installation is finished. All right, now the part everyone is waiting for, let's see how it sounds.

The MagnaFlow Tru-X high flow resonator really fills a nice void in the S550 market. If your Mustang is a little bit too loud with the resonator deleted or too loud for your neighbors, it's a great way to get rid of the sound and bring it down a little bit, and it also gets rid of a lot of the raspy sound, as well. The installation is pretty straightforward. It'll take you about an hour to an hour and a half. You should be back on the road in no time.
