MBRP designs this cat-back exhaust kit to match the harsh demands off-roaders place on their rigs. The unique chambered design of the muffler provides a pleasingly rich rumble at idle that builds to a civilized growl at driving speeds and a throaty roar when you push the throttle down. Unlike fiber packed straight through mufflers, this muffler's chambered design can handle getting wet.
For this special off-road system, MBRP pulled the muffler forward to provide maximum clearance. They designed a heat shield and charcoal canister relocate kit to make sure everything remains safe and secure. This system is built out of heavy 16 gauge steel for long lasting durability!
*This exhaust system can be used on 2012-2018 2-Door and 4-Door Wranglers.
Please Note: If installing this exhaust kit on a 2-Door Wrangler, the over axle pipe will need to be shortened by 20-1/2".
Performance and sound are generally the two key factors in putting an exhaust on your Jeep Wrangler. While many brands offer one or the other, MBRP offers both in their extensive selection of exhaust systems and exhaust parts.

Novice skill is required for this installation.
This MBRP cat back exhaust is made of two and a half inch mandrel-bent stainless steel tubing with a straight through muffler and a high tuck turn down tailpipe for a better ground clearance and better sound. It comes with everything you need for an easy installation, so today we're gonna install it on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler.
Tools you will need for this installation: a lift or a jack and jack stands, 1/2" ratchet, 15mm socket, 18mm socket, 15mm wrench and you might need an exhaust hanger removal tool.
This cat back exhaust is pretty simple to install, we have to start off by removing the factory system which is pretty easy. Just remove this clamp right here on the muffler, then remove the muffler from the two hangers.
Loosen the clamp with a 15mm socket.
Remove the driver's side hanger from the muffler.
Then remove the rubber hanger from the frame mount.
With both hangers removed, just twist the muffler, and pull it off.
Come up to the front of the exhaust now where the front pipe meets the y-pipe, and remove the clamp. Now if you have some miles on your Jeep, this clamp might be pretty hard to remove, so you might want to use some penetrating lubricant.
Remove the rubber hanger from the front pipe. Then there's one more hanger to remove. Then remove this rubber hanger near the axle.
Lower the skid plate by removing the rear two bolts, and then loosening the front two.
Then come back to the back of the exhaust and twist it to pull it off the front pipe. Bring the exhaust back. Bring it around the skid plate, and then bring it forward to remove it. With the factory system removed, place a clamp over the y-pipe, install the rubber hanger on the front pipe. Install the front pipe onto the y-pipe. Then install the hanger onto the frame mount.
Install the muffler with a clamp. Then tighten the clamp just to make sure it doesn't fall off. Put a clamp over the muffler, then install the intermediate pipe. Get it into the muffler. Then into the rubber hanger. Place a clamp over the intermediate pipe, then install the over axle pipe.
Get it into the hanger, adjust the pipe to your liking. Then you can tighten all the clamps. Tighten all the clamps by starting in the front, then working your way back. And then adjust the pipes as needed.
Finally reinstall the skid plate. And your installation's finished.
All right, let's hear it.
Our MBRP cat back exhaust is installed, it looks way better with the factory exhaust out of the way. And we got better ground clearance too. It's significantly louder than the factory exhaust, but it sounds really good. Installation will only take you about an hour. And before you know it, you'll be heading off road.
