This exhaust system from MBRP is proven to be one of the best in the industry from almost any corner you look at it. Why, you ask? MBRP puts countless hours on the dyno and hundreds of miles on the street and track to perfect. This system is designed to deliver a head-turning exhaust note without making your ear drums ring on the highway, while allowing for maximum exhaust flow to give you the best performance numbers out there. Made of durable and reliable aluminized steel, this system minimizes exhaust temperatures through its seamless sealed construction. Seals are a major point of rust on any budget exhaust system, so MBRP designs their systems with as little seams as possible.

The stock F150 cat-back sees 477 CFM but MBRP's (S5259AL) cat-back flows 877 CFM. With an exhaust flow increase of over 70%, you can expect great gains in both horsepower and torque. Installation of the MBRP 4" Side Exit Cat-Back Exhaust System is relatively easy, needing only a few hand tools to complete.

Please Note: Extension pipe will need to be cut, or not be needed at all for some cab and bed configurations. Shortening of the front pipe will be required to fit smaller wheel wheelbase configurations. Please refer to installation instructions.

The EcoBoost engines available on the 2015-2017 F150 make minimal noise from the factory. If you want to hear the turbo(s) better, then picking up this MBRP Cat-Back Exhaust System is the perfect choice. These systems pump up the decibels without making your ears ring. The exhaust notes are subtle and manageable when cruising down the highway but will roar when you mash on the throttle. Given all the pros of this system from MBRP, how do you say no to throwing this exhaust on your F150?!

MBRP Cat-Back Exhaust System 4" Single Side Exit Aluminized Series EcoBoost 2.7L/3.5L F-150 2015-2017 is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great purchase! After owning my 2015 F-150 2.7 Ecoboost since 2015, I finally decided to "upgrade" something so I chose the exhaust. Throughout the internet, I saw mostly positive reviews for MBRP's 4" Cat-Back exhaust and since it was fairly inexpensive, I decided to purchase it. Shipping was decently timed as it was received by Monday when I ordered it on Thursday. Granted, it was sitting in Macon, GA's UPS warehouse during the weekend, I cannot fault CJ Pony for that. I decided today to install the exhaust myself. I had almost zero experience putting anything or taking anything on and off a vehicle in my 34 years of life. To be honest, the installation video helped tremendously and gave me a good deal of confidence with the installation. The instructions provided in the box were not as helpful to me though. I had a hard time looking at the pictures and deciphering what and where I was supposed to be. However, that's a personal opinion so don't let that detract you from purchasing. The removal and installing of the old and new exhaust in all was moderately difficult but I managed to get it installed within three hours. The hardest part, for me, was taking off the old exhaust. Installing the MBRP was easy. Afterwards, My kids and I hopped into the truck and enjoyed the ride. The noise felt just right with just a good amount of kick to know and hear the difference and not be too annoying. I'm new to the "upgrade" movement so I cannot accurately say my HP was noticeably higher. I picked up speed quick upon entering the highway but that could've been me "in the moment". When driving when I noticed my MPG meter was all the way up and green, I did not hear the rumble until I accelerated. I can't tell if this is normal or if I installed it incorrectly. Through it all, I loved the exhaust and do give it five stars in all. As the video said, it's not a V8 but it gives you something different. Its a definite great purchase for a reasonable price.

MBRP Cat-Back Exhaust System 4" Single Side Exit Aluminized Series EcoBoost 2.7L/3.5L F-150 2015-2017 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: If you've been following our F-150 EcoBoost build, you've seen we've already done some LED upgrades. Today, we're going to be upgrading the exhaust. After market exhausts are a great way to improve the performance and sound of your vehicle, even more so on turbo charged vehicles. It will allow the turbos to spool up quicker, and will add a more aggressive sound. Today, we're going to be installed in this 4" MBRP Exhaust on our 2016 EcoBoost F-150. This MBRP Cap Back Exhaust feature 4" aluminized mandrel bent tubing, with a single exit, 5" polished stainless steel tip, that out flows our factory exhaust by 70%, making it a perfect first performance upgrade for our EcoBoost F-150. Before we start the install, we're going to show you what our factory exhaust sounds like.

For this installation, you'll need a jack and jack stands or a lift, 3/8" ratchet, 13mm socket, 15mm socket, 5/16" hex key, and a 15mm wrench.

We're obviously going to start by removing the factory system. It's pretty easy to remove, there's only three things we have to loosen; two bolts up here on the flange, and then one clamp right here, with one nut. The two bolts that we have to remove from this flange are 13mm. Remove this clamp by loosening the 15mm nut. There's a locking tab on this muffler here. You have to give the pipe a twist to release it. Now we can remove the exhaust system. It can come out as one piece, but you might want some help because it's pretty heavy. I have my assistant Bill here, you might recognize him, he's been in a couple CJ's videos before. We're going to pull this exhaust out together. There's a total of four hangers that you're going to have to remove. This first one up here can come off by itself. Penetrating lubricant is going to help a lot when removing these. Spray it on the rubber here, and these hangers should come out really easy. Now that there's only three hangers left installed, we can just pull the exhaust out of them.

Now that the factory exhaust is out, we can install our new MBRP Cap Back. There's an extension pipe included in this kit, if you have a longer wheel base truck. Since our truck is a short bed, we don't need it, we can install just using this front pipe. We're going to be using the supplied hardware to secure this front pipe, with a bolt and washer on one side, then a flat washer, lock washer, then a nut on the other side. Just get these hand tightened, you don't want to tighten this completely down just yet. Next, we're going to install this exhaust clamp with a built in hanger, and secure it to this rear mount. Install the muffler with the MBRP logo facing upright. Now, just get these hand tight for now, you don't want to crank these down just yet. The next pipe to install is this over-axle pipe. Get this clamp hand tight. Now we can install the tailpipe. Once you have everything installed properly, you can go ahead and start tightening up your clamps. All that's left now is just the tip. You want to get this on to where you like it, whether it's further out, further in, or clocked a certain way, whichever position you like, and then tighten it down. Tighten it up with a 5/16" hex bit. Now your installation's finished.

Now, for the moment we've all been waiting for, let's hear what it sounds like. You've heard what it sounds like on the outside already. You're probably wondering what does it sound like on the inside. It is loud? Is it quiet? Does it sound good? Does it not sound good? Does it sound like a V8, sound like a V6, what does it sound like? First impression, it's really quiet in here actually. At idle, you can't really tell that there's an exhaust. I have the radio off and you can barely here it at idle, it's really quiet. For cruising, we're at highway speeds right now, 55 miles an hour, and you can barely tell that there's an after-market exhaust back there. It's really quiet and I really like it. It doesn't drone. It's not going to kill your ears. It's not going to be exhausting if you go on a long cruise, road trip, vacation, whatever. It's not going to kill you, and it's not going to get you a ticket either for being too loud. This thing is pretty quiet. When you get on it, you open it up, it's a lot louder. You can hear the turbos. It sounds pretty good, but even then, it's still not obnoxiously loud. It sounds good. IT's the perfect mixture of just being loud enough and sounding good. It's not overkill at all. I think it's just right.

If you're looking for that V8 sound, you're not going to get it with this. That's just not what this is supposed to do, but it does sound great. It's a different kind of sound. It's unique. There's not many things on the road that sound like this. There aren't many twin turbo V6s out there. There's plenty of V8s, you can hear them all day, but this is a very unique sound. Overall, I think this exhaust was a really good choice for this truck. It's not overkill. It's not going to kill your ears. It's not going to get you a ticket. It's not going to make anyone mad with how loud it is. It's not loud at all. It's nice and quiet for an after-market exhaust. It sounds great, and it runs great. I really like this exhaust.

Our MBRP exhaust is installed. It fit great. It looks great. It sounds even better. Installation should take one to two hours, and before you know it, you'll be heading down the road.
