Turbocharged 4-cylinder engines produce extremely hot charge air temperatures very quickly, and the stock tube-and-fin EcoBoost intercooler can suffer from heat soak even after a short period of time. Mishimoto even designed this intercooler to fit with the stock active grille shutters and mount in the OE intercooler location. Construction starts with cast end tanks that are CFD-tested for maximum airflow and includes an in-tank air diverter on the hot side to provide optimal flow through the core. Testing has shown that this Intercooler reduces intake temperatures by 35°F with minimal pressure loss. With a 25% increase in core volume and a 165% increase in external fin surface area, your 2015-2018 EcoBoost Mustang will be running more efficiently in no time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Intercooler Upgrade for the Ecoboost Mustang Hi Guys - first off I held the IC for three weeks, before performing the install, not because I wanted to, but because of time and lots of rain here in GA. I finally got around to installing it about three-four weeks ago and It was absolutely worth the upgrade. It’s also worth noting, this should be considered the first upgrade to do on the Eco boost, given the significant reduction in heat soak and cooling it adds to your system. Before doing any tune upgrades, you need to get the cooling under control and the factor IC is small, lightweight and a piece of garbage. This aftermarket unit is larger, heavier and we way more cooling capacity. I used my sister’s garage to do the install with jacks and jack stands. The install time took about 6 hours to complete, because I took my time. The single screw that holds the front bumper to the frame on both sides, just an FYI is absolute pain to get out. The area its located in is cramped and you don't get much turn radius, when using socket wrench in the tiny space. PERFORMANCE GAINS: The temps here in GA the past few weeks have been ranging from 86-90 with humidity levels between 75%-85%. Prior to installing the upgraded IC, my factory IC would have inlet temps of around 20-25 degrees higher than the ambient temp and this was while driving around town and being on the move. Sitting in traffic, those temps could get as high as 35-40 degrees higher than ambient temp. After the IC upgrade and driving on the highway and around town, my temps are sitting around ambient to +5-+7 degrees difference. Sitting in traffic with no wind, high humidity and hot exhaust fumes from cars in front of you. Expect those temps will go up and in my case, typically +20 to ambient, until I get moving and the temp’s start coming down significantly. Tale gating will add to the increased temps FYI. As far as me being able to do multiple pulls with this IC, I have seen no drops in performance and can do pulls consistently, unlike the factory IC, which couldn't cool properly and I would be lucky to get two consistent pulls without losing HP. Overall I'm very happy with this upgrade and would recommend it as the best first upgrade for any Ecoboost Mustang.

IF I DO NOT TUNE WITH U/G MISHIMOTO INTERCOOLER WHAT BINIFIT THE ENGINE WILL RECIVE ?

Even if you do not install a tune, you will still see major benefits in increased inlet air temps. You car will be better prepared to resist heat soak conditions.
