Black Straight Monte Carlo Bar for 1965-1966 Mustangs.

The Monte Carlo bar was developed by Carroll Shelby to stop shock tower flex and maintain proper wheel alignment during hard cornering. This extra support also helps prevent shock tower stress cracks. This upgraded support bar is crafted from high-quality metal and comes with a beautiful black metallic finish to add some extra class to your engine bay. For 1965-1966 convertibles, you must remove the factory tubular engine compartment bracing. No other modifications are necessary when installing this Monte Carlo bar.

Please Note: Mounting hardware (HW2911) is sold separately.
Vehicle Fitment Note: If you need extra room for an upgraded air cleaner or distributor, consider a curved Monte Carlo bar instead of this standard straight one (MCB4, MCB2).

Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a simple bolt on project. Repeat this is Not a simple bolt on project. The bar is about 1/4" too long to go in the designated location. It will Not fit without Extreme Massaging of the inner fender. Not wishing to preform "extreme massaging" to my 65 Mustang, I opted to relocate the bar about 6" forward. Of course in order to do this, the starter relay needed to be relocated, as well as the radiator overflow bottle. An additional problem with the bar is that the mounting bracket has a 90 degree angle, but the bar is cut with an ~75 degree angle, this results in the top of the mount not laying flat. This is a rare poor product that Cjpony carries.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a perfect fit This is a nice looking part that is the right width and the holes are almost in the right spots. The issue with it is the brackets on both ends. They are welded at the proper angle to match up with the inner fender but they are bent at 90 degrees which is tighter than the sheet metal is bent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor fit!! This didn’t fit my mustang. No matter what I tried I couldn’t get it to fit. Short of using a hydraulic spreader!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Monte Carlo I think the strength is questionable. It is very light weight steel.

Is there any structural differences between the straight bar compared to the curved one?

Nope - just extra room for air cleaners/distributors.
