This module allows you launch the car between 1,800-9,900 RPM in 100 RPM increments. This MSD module (MSD 8731) allows for consistent launches resulting in quicker 60-foot times, and more importantly quicker ET/MPH down the quarter mile. When the 2-Step Module is activated, the set RPM will be held steady. Once the green LED lights up, slip your foot off the clutch and you’re off. The launch RPM can be adjusted by two rotary dials that are built onto the module.

Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 4 out of 5 by from MSD 2 Step The device is easy to install and the instructions are very clear with the exception of the clutch line tap. You need a test light to determine the proper clutch wire that provides power. Use the blue/white MSD wire and connect to the upper green/black clutch wire. The included tap is an issue because it did not provide a good connection on its own. Once I shaved some of the wire insulation, the tap worked. Overall I'm very pleased with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I bought this for my 2015 mustang gt (6 speed) and I'm using the blue/white wire but it won't engage with the clutch but the red led is on...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2015 OWNERS READ!!! Use the blue/red wire plugged into the junction that the clutch pedal presses into. Do NOT use the green/black on that’s on the same plug. Also, use the SOLID blue wire to tap the blue/red wire. Do NOT use the blue/white wire. I searched all over for this information and had to figure it out myself through trial and error after the green/black wire did not work.

Instead of tapping into the clutch wire could I just use a two way on/off switch?

Asked by: MustangSpecial
I would wire it per manufacturers instructions.

is this compatible with an automatic?

Asked by: babyhulk
Yes, but it will not hold like a trans brake. Depending on what size converter you have in the car, you could set the rpm limit to right before the stall engages.
