Product Description

MSD "Blaster II" Chrome Ignition Coil with Ballast Hardware.

If you are looking to upgrade your stock coil, or want to compliment the performance of your MSD Blaster Ignition, MSD 5, 6 or 7, the Blaster Coil line is the right choice.

Features:
-45,000 maximum voltage
-Chrome canister filled with premium-grade oil for cooling
-CARB E.O. approved

All of the Blaster Coils are designed for improved spark output! Special 100:1 windings are used to provide maximum build-up of voltage! These windings are held secure and kept cool in an oil filled metal canister. The tower assembly is molded of durable alkyd material due to its high dielectric characteristics while wide spaced brass primary terminals prevent the possibility of spark.

Each Blaster Coil can be used with a stock ignition, Blaster Ignition, MSD 5, 6 or 7 Ignition Control. Check your ignition and manufacturers specifications to determine if a ballast is required in your application.

Fitment:
- 1965-1973 Mustangs
- 1957-1979 F-100s
- 1966-1977 Broncos

Please Note: This blaster coil is designed to be used with an MSD ignition. If installing on stock style system, a 0.8 ohm ballast resistor or resistor wiring MUST be installed!

Product Questions

What does this mean?: "Check your ignition and manufacturers specifications to determine if a ballast is required in your application." Do you really need BOTH Pink resistor wire AND ballast installed?

Asked by: 65fast
That information is directly from the manufacturer and depends on the application.

For a 1965 mustang (289) that has a stock Pink resistor wire, is it necessary to use the external ballast resistor (in addition to the Pink wire) or can you simply connect the MSD Blaster II to the stock ignition wire (which connects to Pink wire)?
