Mustang Accel Super EDIS V6 Coil Pack (2005-2010) Installation Instructions

Tools Required:
  • 7mm Socket
  • 1/4-inch x 6-inch Extension
  • 1/4-inch Ratchet
  • Dielectric Grease

1. To start the installation of your new Mustang Accel 140035 Super EDIS V6 Coil Pack, disconnect the battery's ground cable.
2. Note the position of each spark plug wire connected to factory Mustang ignition coils: [1]-[2]-[3], [5]-[6]-[4]

3. Mark each Mustang spark plug wire with the corresponding number to avoid confusion.

4. Remove the spark plug wires by slowly pressing both tabs inward at the same time and pulling up while twisting.
CAUTION: It is important to twist the spark plug wire boot while pulling up upward to avoid possible damage to spark plug wires.

5. Remove all four 7mm bolts and unplug rear wiring harness from coil pack.

6. Lift and remove the old coil pack from vehicle mounting bracket.

7. Proceed to install new Accel Coil Pack in your Mustang. Tighten each of the 7mm bolts. NOTE: Be sure to reinstall the radio ignition interference capacitor under the correct mounting bolt.

8. Apply dielectric grease to each of the rubber boots. Also apply a thin coat to the rear wiring harness' rubber gasket.
9. Attach each spark plug to the Mustang ignition coils with corresponding number location: [1]-[2]-[3], [5]-[6]-[4]

10. To confirm you've installed your new Mustang Accel Super EDIS V6 Coil Pack correctly, start your vehicle. If there are any problems with idle or acceleration, check to make sure everything is tight and your wires are on the right coil.
