1. To get started with this installation, make sure to check out your new Mustang CPC ENG-058-600 NXT Generation Hood Strut Kit.

2. Raise the hood and secure the stock prop-rod in the ‘up’ position. You'll begin on the passenger side by locating and removing the windshield washer line and plastic clips by hand. There are two clips, remove both.

3. On the passenger side, locate and remove the two bolts and washers connecting the factory hood hinge to the Mustang hood using a 10mm socket. You will reuse these bolts and washers.

4. Install one of the new California Pony Cars hood hinges. Each of the CPC hood hinges and strut ball mounts are marked for each side, so make sure that you use the correct parts on the correct sides. Install the new CPC hood hinge with the silver strut ball round mount. Make sure it is facing the front of the hood. Line up the two holes and replace the two stock bolts and washers using a 10mm socket. Do not fully tighten the bolt/washers at this point. Then, gently lower the hood to ensure proper alignment. Loosen bolts and adjust if necessary. Once the alignment is perfect, fully tighten the bolts.

5. Secure the windshield washer line to the new CPC hood hinge using a plastic zip tie.

6. Locate and remove the bolt and washer located closest to the firewall using a 10mm socket. You will re-use this bolt and washer.

7. Install one of the new CPC strut ball mounts with the stock bolt and washer using a 10mm socket. Remember, the CPC hood hinges and strut ball mounts are marked side specific, so ensure that you use the correct parts on the correct side.

8. Install the passenger's side Mustang hood strut by hand. Snap each end onto the strut ball mounts. Install it with the larger-bore tube on the top. You may have to disconnect the prop rod and manually raise the hood a little higher.

9. Moving on to the driver’s side, locate and remove the two bolts and washers connecting the factory hood hinge to the hood using a 10mm socket. You will re-use these bolts and washers.
