Tools Required:
- Phillips Head Screw Driver
- Prying Device
- 7/16" Wrench
Install Difficulty:
- Easy Project

1. To begin your Mustang Driver's Side Remote Mirror installation, take off any speaker cover or plastic with your prying device (as seen below). You should be able to put the tip of the prying device between the speaker cover and plastic itself and pry away from it without causing damage to either part. If you don't have a speaker and it's a black piece of plastic, it should just snap off without any prying necessary.

2. Once that is off, you will see the speaker underneath. Using a Phillips head screw-driver (as shown below), loosen the screw to remove the speaker. Once the screw is out, you can lift up on the speaker and unplug it. I couldn't get the gray clips to allow me to unplug the speaker, so I let it hang cautiously while doing the installation.

3. Using your prying device again, you need to pop out the interior door panel cup to get to the power wire for the mirror. (If your mirror isn't a power mirror skip this step.) There are two spots to pry the door panel cup out; one is shown below and the other is at the end, down by the handle of the panel cup.

4. Once you have the door panel cup unattached, all you have to do is reach in and unhook the clip that holds the power wire in place. (Wire location shown below.) You may have to use a flashlight to see which wire it is if you have limited day-light.

5. Once the power wire is unplugged, you will see three bolts that hold the mirror on to the car. Using a 7/16 inch wrench, remove these bolts. Be cautious and do it slowly so you don't drop them into the door panel. As you remove them you will notice the mirror start to loosen from the car; hold on to the mirror so it doesn't fall and damage the side of your car. Once these bolts are removed and the mirror is unplugged, you should be able to pull the mirror right off of the car without the resistance of the wires. The wire should come right out with it.

6. Now its time to put the new Mustang exterior mirror on the car. You may do so by reversing the steps of taking the mirror off. (Decal shown is not included with new mirror.)

7. Put the mirror nearly in position. Run the power wire into the appropriate hole down into your Mustang door panel and plug it in. Make sure it works before you go any further so you can diagnose any problems, especially if it is supposed to be power mirrors. You don't want to find out that it is not working after you put it all back together. Once you have tested it and it works, snap the interior door panel cup back into position.

8. Put the nuts back on and tighten them to attach the mirror to your Mustang.

9. If you unplugged your speaker earlier, plug it back in and put the speaker back in place. Tighten the screw to securely fasten it in the correct position.

10. Replace the speaker cover, or plastic if you don't have a speaker. It should snap right back in.

11. Enjoy your new Mustang Driver's Side Remote Mirror!
