Install Difficulty:
- Moderate Project
1. Prior to jacking your vehicle to begin installing your new Mustang Ford Racing M-3075-E Front Lower Control Arms, ensure the vehicle is in gear and parking brake is fully engaged with wheel chock placed behind rear wheel.
2. With your Mustang on a level surface, loosen the Mustang lug nuts with a 13/16-inch socket and breaker bar.
3. Proceed to raise your Mustang with a floor jack, place jack stands securely under the vehicle at the recommended jacking points and lower your Mustang to rest on the jack stands. Remove lug nuts and the Mustang wheels and tires.

4. Loosen and remove your Mustang power steering rack with an 18mm standard socket, then remove both bolts.

5. Pull the Mustang rack & pinion steering rack forward to allow for access and clearance to the bolts.

6. Proceed to loosen and remove the ball joint pinch bolt and nut using 15mm and 18mm sockets. Using a pry bar, push apart the pinch bolt knuckle to loosen it. If you run in to any resistance due to rust and corrosion, it may be necessary to lightly tap it with a hammer a couple times to free up the Mustang ball joint.

7. Loosen and remove the forward control arm mounting bolt with a 18mm standard socket. The nut is welded into place on the frame and does not require it to be held. If the weld is broken away from frame, it requires a 21mm socket.

8. Loosen and remove the rear control flag bolts nuts with a 21mm wrench.
9. Remove the Mustang lower control arms from vehicle and discard.

10. Proceed to place a new Ford Racing control arm in your Mustang. Reinstall the front forward bolt, first loosely with 3-4 drops of blue Loctite on threads.

11. Reinstall rear flag bolts, adding 3-4 drops of blue Loctite to the threads and loosely tightening the nuts. NOTE: The original flag bolts were installed with the flags down from factory and will be very difficult to re-torque, due to the clearance in this tight space. To avoid this issue, you may flip the flag bolts over, allowing you to torque these nuts from the underside of your chassis with your 1/2-inch torque wrench more freely.

12. Align the Mustang ball joint with the knuckle spindle, then slide it into place, tapping it with a rubber mallet until ball joint groove is aligned with the hole, allowing the bolt to freely slide through. Then, loosely attach the bolt and nut, making sure to include 2-3 drops of Loctite.

13. Tighten the forward control bolt to 129 ft./lbs. with an 18mm socket.

14. Tighten the rear flag bolts to 129 ft./lbs. with a 21mm socket.

15. Finally, to finish attaching your new Mustang front lower control arms, tighten the pinch bolt and nut using 15mm and 18mm sockets and tighten to 76 ft./lbs.

16. Reinstall rack & pinion steering rack back in to place, making sure to apply Loctite to the threads, then tightening the bolts to 85 ft./lbs.

17. Reinstall the wheels and lug nuts and hand tighten.
18. Jack the vehicle up, remove the jack stands, then slowly lower the vehicle to the ground. Using a 13/16-inch socket, torque each lug nut to 100 ft./lbs. in a star pattern.
19. Test drive and listen for any noises. If everything sounds good, you've completed the installation of your Mustang Ford Racing Front Lower Control Arms. Note: It is recommended that you get your Mustang aligned after working on your suspension.
