Tools Required:
- Flat Head Screw Driver
- Needle Nose Plier
- Carpenter Hammer
- Drill & 1/4" Bit
Install Difficulty:
- Easy Project
1. To begin installing your new Mustang Rear Spoiler Assembly, use the screws and brackets provided and mount the pedestals to the underside of the new spoiler wing using the screw mounting holes in the spoiler. Make sure that the slotted bracket is on the inside and lines up correctly with the screw hole on the pedestal. The pedestal and slotted mounting bracket should both face the front of the wing, which is the thicker edge. Do not over tighten these screws.

2. Insert the 5/16" mounting bolt and washer from the Mustang Rear Spoiler Pedestal Kit into the side of the pedestal and hand-tighten. Repeat for the other pedestal.

3. Place the Mustang rear spoiler pads on the bottom of each pedestal and carefully measure and place the spoiler on the vehicle. Remove the spoiler, but leave the pedestals in place. Use tape to fasten the gaskets in place on your trunk lid. Recheck your measurements and positioning after taping the gaskets to the vehicle to ensure proper fitment.

4. Holes will be drilled through the outer two holes in each gasket. Do not drill out the center hole, as only two holes per gasket are needed. Check the area where the holes will be drilled for wires or other obstructions, then carefully mark and drill pilot holes.
5. Once pilot holes are drilled, finish drilling out each hole with a 1/4" bit.
6. Screw the threaded rods into the holes in the bottom of each pedestal.

7. Carefully place the Mustang spoiler assembly (wing, pedestals, gaskets) into position to verify everything fits correctly. It may be necessary to replace the existing 2" threaded studs with longer studs to accommodate your mounting position.

8. Remove the spoiler assembly and apply silicone or another sealant to the holes in the Mustang trunk lid to prevent leakage and rust.
9. Place the spoiler assembly back into position.
10. Mount with nuts and washers on the threaded studs from underneath. Do not over tighten.

11. Adjust the angle of the spoiler wing as desired and tighten the mounting bolt on each pedestal.

12. You've just completed installing your new 1969-1970 Mustang Rear Spoiler!
