1. To begin your Mustang Ford Racing M-12259-C462 Spark Plug Wire Set installation, pop the hood, disconnect the negative battery terminal and locate your old spark plug wires. In this case we are changing old Ford Racing wires with new ones.

2. Remove your spark plug wires from the Mustang coil packs by squeezing the tabs on the sides and pulling upward.

3. To access the plug wires on the passenger side, you will need to take off your Mustang cold air intake (using a flat head screwdriver) or just push it off to the side, out of the way of the wire set.

4. Now remove the spark plug wires from the spark plugs by pulling straight up.

5. If you are having difficulty pulling the plugs out by hand, you may also use a wire puller.

6. Once all the spark plug wires are removed from the spark plugs, remove the wires from the wire looms and remove all plug wires from the Mustang ignition system components and the car.

7. Position your new wires into place one side at a time, before you start plugging them back in. It is always a good idea to use a little dielectric grease on each end of the wires to keep out moisture.

8. Now reconnect each plug wire to its proper coil by pushing them down until they each click into place. The correct firing order for a 96-98 2V 4.6 GT is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.

9. Reconnect the coil wires to the Mustang spark plugs by simply pushing them down until they pop into place. Give the wire a little tug once it is in place to make sure it is securely connected. Below is the correct order of the cylinders on the engine looking at it from under the hood.
Left | Right |
4 | 8 |
3 | 7 |
2 | 6 |
1 | 5 |

10. Once you have all the wires reconnected to your spark plugs, position the wires into their appropriate wire looms if equipped.

11. Once all your wires are in place and snug, check over connections on the rest of your Mustang ignition system components and reattach you air intake.

12. Now your installation is complete, reconnect the negative battery terminal and start your car to ensure everything is working properly. Enjoy your new Mustang Ford Racing 9mm Spark Plug Wires!
