ReadyLIFT Rear Block Kit 2" Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 1999-2017 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: We recently just installed a leveling kit on the front of our 2017 Silverado to give it an aggressive look and a bit more ground clearance, but today we're going to take a step further by installing this Ready-Lift 2 inch block kit fitting your 2007 -2017 Silverado. These Ready-Lift rear blocks are made of cast iron with anti-rotation ears and are designed to perfectly fit your Silverado, and depending on your application it will give your Silverado up to a 2-inch lift in the rear, but in our case, we're going to get a full 1-inch lift. It comes with all the hardware you'll need for an easy installation and to give your truck a more lifted and aggressive look, so today we're going to install these blocks on our 2017 Silverado.

Tools you'll need for this installation, a lift, and a pole jack, or a jack and jack stands, 21 millimeter socket, 22 millimeter socket, 1/2 inch ratchet, and a 21 millimeter wrench.

Okay, we have the truck up in the air. The first thing we're going to do is support the rear end with a bolt jack. You don't need to lift up the rear, just support it. We have the rear lift in, now we're going to be working on one side at a time just to make it safer and easier. The first thing we're going to do is remove this bottom shock mount with a 21-millimeter socket and wrench. Remove the four nuts that secure the axle plate and U bolts. These are also 21 millimeters. Remove the U bolts. We won't be using these any more. Now we're going to lower the axle. Remove the factory block.

We're ready to install our new Ready-Lift block. You want the higher part in the rear and the lower end in the front. Install the longer U bolts that come with the kit. Finally, install the provided hardware. Once you get all four started by hand you can tighten them down. We got all four nuts tightened, now we can reinstall the shock. We have to raise the axle a bit to get that in place. Okay, now we can repeat the process on the other side.

All right. Everything's bolted up. We can now lower the rear, and I think this truck is now ready for some nice wheels and tires, and also we need a professional alignment. Okay, so we have our Ready-Lift rear blocks installed. They gave us about a 1 1/4 lift back here. It was a little bit more than an inch, and we have an 1 1/2 leveling kit up front, so this truck has about a 1 1/2 inch all the way around. It's looking pretty good. Now we're ready for some wheels and tires and alignment. Installation really wasn't too bad, it should only talk you about an hour, and before you know it you'll be heading off-road.
