Rear Decklid Emblem GT Matte Black GT 2015-2017 is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product, really sets of the rear This emblem is good quality Ford licensed product, which really customizes the back end. It's matte black and comes with everything you need. Simply remove the two black plastic caps from inside the truck lid, then the four (4) nuts (close the lid a little so you don't lose the nuts), then use a plastic pry tool to gently pry the top of the deck lid panel working from left to right and bingo, the deck lid comes off. Unplug the rear view camera, use a flathead screw driver to pry inword on the plastic attachment point on the back of the old GT emblem, then delicately pull it off the deck lid panel. Clean up the deck lid, wipe the attachment area with a little rubbing alcohol, attach the new emblem, and reinstall the panel. Great product, easy install (1/2 hour), "you'll be back on the road in no time".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks sweet but.... Bought the GT emblem a couple weeks back and installed. The matte black looks sweet on the decklid. Only concern is the 3M tape is not sticking on a few corners, it's on the decklid just not the emblem itself. Been holding fine so far thru rain and 2 washes. Just a little concerned that it might fly off one day and money down the drain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One issue I ordered the 5.0 Matte Black badges and the rear decklid GT badge in Matte Black as well. I had one problem with the GT badge. The 3M tape on the 5.0 badges were black which blended in. But the GT rear decklid badge had white 3M tape and it shows. It bothers me. Idk why it wouldn't be black as well to blend in. Overall looks great!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor adhesive The adhesive that sticks to the emblem is very weak and easily seperates. It sticks to the car fine, but not the actual emblem. Maybe I got a bad batch but 2 of them did it to me. And why make the adhesive white?!?! You can easily see it after attachment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replace 5.0 emblems I removed the 5.0 emblems and ordered the GT to cover the holes. The emblem looks great on the sides of my 2016 Guard Mustang GT. I trimmed the pins to attach the emblems to the sides. The adhesive does not have sufficient area to hold the emblem without the pins in holes. I used double side outdoor adhesive tape to build a pad flush with the edge of the emblem. I hope it holds but I would welcome any suggestions short of drilling more hole in the panel.

Product Questions

Does this emblem fit on Euro spec cars (that have the false filler cap round GT emblem). Are the holes in the deck lid in the same place for both badge options?

Asked by: 250GTE
It will not work on Euro-Spec cars with the round faux gas cap.

Rear Decklid Emblem GT Matte Black GT 2015-2017 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: We’re here with a matte black GT trunk panel emblem fitting your 2015-2016 Mustang GT. This Ford licensed GT trunk panel emblem is an exact reproduction of the original one found on all 2015-2016 Mustang GTs, but redone in a matte black finish for a true custom look. It's going to install in the factory location, using the alignment studs, and the provided double stick tape. Here you can see the matte black emblem installed on the factory trunk lid panel. The matte gives a really nice custom finish against the gloss black panel. If you’re looking for a brighter look, the emblem is also available in a gloss black finish.
