Vehicle Fitment

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks like a good product. I purchased these for my 69 Mustang to adapt for the center mount parking brake handle I am installing from a 1987 Mustang.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was only ok. Had to do a lot of improvising and engineering. Had to think of ways to make it work on my 65.

What is the length of these cables?

Asked by: Mike
If you are looking at a Lokar part Number EC-80FU the outer housing is 8" and the inner wire is 9" long, these are cut to fit and will allow you to fit them to your car.

I have a 66 mustang with 8.8 rear end from explorer. Would this parking brake cable work?

Asked by: Mlyon
The cables you have highlighted (EC-80FU) are for most drum brakes which will not fit the explorer brakes with internal parking brakes. If you have the explorer rear end that has an internal drum in the rotor the correct cables for those brakes are (EC-81FU) for the black housing or (EC-81FHT) for the stainless braid. We do not make brake cables vehicle specific due to many variances between vehicles but do make them specific for the brakes. However the attachment on the handbrake side can be adapted to fit most applications or we may have a connector cable available to attach to the factory hand or foot brake.

I have a 1970 mustang that was modified before i bought it. It does have 4 wheel disc brakes but im unsure what kind or what they are off of. the parking brake was removed leaving me only with the interior foot pedal. Would this kit work for me?

Lokar offers many different cable kits and it would be best if you called our tech department as there is simply not enough information to steer you in the correct direction. Please call 1-877-469-7440 and we can get you the correct part number to buy from CJ Pony parts. Thank you,

I have a 65 with SSBC brakes that have the separate caliper for the emergency brake. I also have stock handbrake. Will this kit allow me to connect up to equalizer of original brake cable to the new emergency brake caliper?

Asked by: Jamie b65
This is a universal kit that sounds like it could be made to do exactly what you need it to.

Yes, it will work on your 1970 Mach 1. They do run from the parking brake to the rear axle's brake area.
