Here are a few that might need further explanation.

  • Iowa - Despite all of the changes around it, the Civic has remained stable and consistent. The same can be said for Kirk Ferentz's near-30-year tenure in Iowa City.
  • Maryland - The Edsel was a disastrous project for the Ford Motor Company. Similarly, the Randy Edsall era is not one in which Maryland fans will fondly remember.
  • Michigan - Corvette convertibles are usually reserved for those that are in a mid-life crisis. Michigan Football is pretty much at that point with head coach Jim Harbaugh.
  • Ohio State - A high-performance car with a horseshoe design and a 100k-plus stadium called “The Horseshoe” — what’s not to like?
  • Northwestern - The Acura RLX Sport Hybrid packs a powerful punch despite its stature. Similarly, Northwestern is by far the smallest school in the Big 10, but the Wildcats have been to the postseason in eight of the past ten seasons.
