Here are a few that might need further explanation.

  • Oregon - Maserati Ghiblis are head-turners, but they are notorious for having a stiff ride. Similarly, nobody can stop staring at those Oregon jerseys, but the Ducks’ 2017 season had plenty of ups and downs.
  • Washington - The Shelby GT350’s 2016 revival was a godsend for those that had been clamoring for its return. By that same token, the Washington Huskies finally regained their status as a national program in 2016.
  • Stanford - The Camaro went dark from 2002-2009 before coming back for a period of sustained success the following year. The Stanford football program suffered through seven straight losing seasons from 2002-2008 before breaking through with a 12-1 season in 2010.
  • Washington State - Fighter jets accomplish a lot through the air…so have the Cougars ever since Mike Leach took over.
  • Arizona - The Fusion Sport made some big changes under the hood for its latest refresh. The Arizona Wildcats also underwent a facelift this past year with the hiring of new head coach Kevin Sumlin. We’ll see if the engine changes and/or Sumlin’s new offense can help either party keep up.
  • Arizona State - The Jaguar brand is attempting to try its hand in the SUV market, and Arizona State hired a man who hasn’t coached anywhere in a decade. Whatever happens, it should be fun to watch.
  • UCLA - Like the Acura NSX in 2017, the UCLA football program received a major upgrade in 2018 with head coach Chip Kelly bringing his high-octane offense to Pasadena.
  • Colorado - The Toyota Land Cruiser is a solid off-roading vehicle, but not a great daily driver. Similarly, the Buffs lost four of five games away from the friendly confines of Folsom Field and that beautiful mountain backdrop last year.
