The owner of this 2015 Mustang GT Bahrain has done a great job building his own version of a Roush Mustang, and today we're going to that Roush theme into the interior by installing this billet aluminum pedal set.
This four-piece billet aluminum Roush pedal set will fit all 2015-2022 Mustangs with manual transmission, and an automatic version is also available. This includes a gas pedal, brake pedal, clutch pedal, and a dead pedal, and they come and build it with a Roush logo engraved and grip tape also installed. These will install in place of your factory rubber pads, and these two will install over the factory part.
For this instillation, we need a trim removal tool or small flathead screwdriver, marker, center punch, drill - preferably right angle, 1/4 inch drill bit, 1/8 inch drill bit, nine millimeter wrench, Phillips-head screwdriver, and safety glasses.
In the case of the gas and the dead pedal, the gas pedal is going to install on top of the existing pedal. The dead pedal, we're actually going to remove this plastic trim that's going to install in factory location here. With these, though - these covers have to come off first. So, you need a small flat blade screwdriver or trim tool to get these off.
Now, what we're going to do is mark our holes. We're going to drill, basically, in all three pedals. What we're going to do: line this up with the bottom.
That's where I'll draw holes for that. Let's say I'm in with the next pedals; I'll line these up.
Okay, now, we're gonna center punch the holes.
Okay, now, we're gonna use our pilots and drill out a 1/4-inch pilot hole.
Now, we're going to drill these holes out to a quarter inch. I'm gonna use a little file here just to clean up the holes. And we'll line up the pedal with the supplied hardware.
Now, once they're installed, we can tighten them up.
And then, repeat the process with the brake pedal.
All right, with the clutch and pedal done, now we're gonna move on to the gas pedal. And the good news is, the clutch pedal and the brake pedal are the harder ones to do. The gas pedal, underneath the aluminum trim, is just plastic, so it's a lot easier to drill through.
And now we can install the pedal.
Now, the final pedal is going to be the easy one, which is the dead pedal. Grab the factory one, just pop it right off. Take these inserts, pop them in, and then make sure these inserts are in the center of the slots. We're going to install the provided screws. Get these snug, don't over-crank them.
And your installation is finished.
The Roush performance pedals really finish off the Roush-inspired look on this 2015 Mustang GT. Now, I'm not going to say this is an easy installation, because it's very difficult with the location you're working at, to get in there and actually drill those holes. But overall, figure about two to three hours, and be back on the road in no time.
