When going off-road, you can never have too much visibility. With our 2016 Jeep Wrangler, we've just installed a Rugged Ridge hood light kit and today we're going to be installing a Rugged Ridge bumper kit. This kit comes with a high quality stainless steel mount that easily bolts to the front bumper with no cutting or drilling and it can mount up to three seven inch lights or two 14 inch light bars. It utilizes the factory mounting locations and will give your Jeep a nice rugged look while improving off-road visibility. Today, we're going to install it on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler.

Tools you'll need for this installation, 3/8s ratchet, 18 millimeter socket, five millimeter hex key, 13 millimeter wrench, 18 millimeter wrench, and a flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool. The first step of this installation is actually installing the mounts for the mount. You don't need a lift for this. We have ours on a lift just for video purposes, but these mounts are getting installed right here. Just like that. These are side specific. These, for the driver's side and, since we're on the driver's side, this is the one we're going to install.

I'm going to remove the six foot that's holding in the skid plate just so I can get better access to the mount. Put the nut on the wrench and then there's a little access hole right here you can slide the wrench up through. Slide it over the bolt. Do the same thing with the top nut. Put the nut on the wrench and bring it all the way up. Then repeat the process on the other side for the other bracket. You can reinstall the skid plate. With the mounts fully secured, you can install the bar. Install the provided hardware, with a washer on each side.

Tighten everything down with a 13 millimeter wrench and a five millimeter hex key. Then your installation is finished. A Rugged Ridge bumper bar is installed. It looks great. It complements the front of the Jeep really well. It'll give us a lot more options for lighting in the future. Installation will take you about 45 minutes and before you know it, you'll be heading off-road.
