The reason we're installing this Rugged Ride Armrest extension is because as you can see I'm sitting here just normally and I'm 5'9" and my elbow is a few inches away from the armrest. To lean on it you've got to really lean over which isn't comfortable. This armrest extension should make it a lot more comfortable and all you have to do to remove it is take off the four T20 torque screws right here. Remove these four screws. There's also two T20 torque screws on each side of this armrest so all four need to be removed as well.
All right, so to install this armrest you'll notice there's two sides to the armrest extension. One's more square and the other is kind of round. You're gonna put the rounder edge towards the front and it's gonna go on just like this but we need to put the provided spacers and hardware on here to secure it. Install the spacers and slide the armrest bracket over the spacers. Install the longer provided screws. Tighten the two screws on the other side. Line the bracket of the armrest up with the two dowel pins on the center console, then reinstall the factory screws.
Once you get all four screws in, your installation is finished. All right, so we got our Rugged Ridge Armrest extension on and as you can see I'm not bent over now at all to put my elbow on here. It's really comfortable and this thing is pretty much a solid block of rubber. It's really soft and comfortable, looks a lot better too and installation, it's not too bad. Should only take you about 15 to 20 minutes and before you know it, you'll be heading off road.
