Today we're gonna cover up our dents so our boss won't notice and protect it from future damage by installing this Rugged Ridge cowl body armor.
This cowl body armor's made of durable thermoplastic and it easily attaches to the cowl to protect it from getting damaged and it'll give your Jeep a nice rugged look. It's super easy to install so today we're gonna install it on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler.
The first thing you need to do is find out which piece of body armor goes on the cowl. They are side specific so you need to line it up and obviously this one doesn't look like it's gonna fit or contour right, so we know it's not the right one. This one, however, lines up perfectly so this is gonna be the one on the driver's side and the other one will be for the passenger's side.
Now that we know this one's going on, we can take it off and wipe the whole surface down with alcohol to make sure it's nice and clean. Use some alcohol to wipe down the whole perimeter to make sure it can stick nice and good. And this is the dent that'll happen if your mirror hits the cowl. This happened to ours just a couple of weeks ago.
Once you have the surface nice and clean, you can peel the backing off all the tape, make sure you line it up just right, stick it onto the cowl, then hold it there for about 30 seconds to make sure it sticks nice and secure. Once you have it nice and secure, repeat the process on the other side, and your installation's finished.
Our Rugged Ridge cowl body armor is installed, no more dents from the stupid mirror, and it gives our Jeep a nice rugged look. Installation should only take a couple of minute and before you know it you'll be heading off road.
