Rugged Ridge Hood Light Bar Kit Textured Black With Five 3" Square LED Lights Jeep Wrangler JK 2007-2018

When going off-roading you want to make sure you have as much visibility as possible. And as you can see our 2016 Jeep Wrangler has no auxiliary lights at all.

So today we're gonna improve off road visibility by installing this Rugged Ridge Hood Light Mounting Bar Kit. Made of high quality steel with a nice textured black finish, it easily bolts to the hood with no cutting or drilling. And it has five mounting tabs and comes with five LED cube lights. It utilizes the factory mounting locations and will give your Jeep a nice rugged look while improving off road visibility. And today we're gonna install it on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler.

For this installation you'll need a 3/8 ratchet, 13 millimeter socket, T-47 Torques bit, 5 millimeter hex key, 13 millimeter wrench, a pair of cutters, crimpers and strippers.

The very first part of the installation is just assembling the mount itself. It's pretty easy, it's only six screws. Assemble the bracket. Then install the provided hardware on each side. Then use a 5 millimeter hex key to tighten it all together. Then do the other side. And now it can go on the Jeep.

With the mount assembled remove the 4, T-47 torques bits securing the hood to the hinge. Now getting the torques bit in there might take a little bit of persuasion because they are painted over and it's not that easy to get it in there. But with a little bit of wiggling and persuasion it will go in. Grab the provided gaskets and install one on each hinge. Install the bracket. Be very careful not to scratch your paint.

The lights are ready to be installed now. These lights do require some assembly. They come with all the hardware you need. Drop the nut down here and then insert your bolt and thread it in to the nut. You don't need a wrench down there. The light will actually hold the nut in place. Don't make them super tight just yet, you want to be able to adjust the bracket. Insert the provided bolt into the mount. Then you can install it on the bracket on the hood.

On the back side of the mount insert a regular washer and then a lock washer. And then the nut. Grab the provided pig tail and connect it to the light harness, and then open the hood. You can then slide the connector through. Then repeat the same process for the rest of the lights and then we can move on to wiring. You can wire the lights up however you would like. However, we have this painless performance trail rocker kit that we're gonna wire the lights into. This trail rocker kit allows you to easily install auxiliary lighting. We really recommend that you get one, it makes it really easy.

You need to run the power wires for the lights to a 12 volt source, which we're gonna run to this wire for the trail rocker kit. Then all you need to do is wire up the grounds and your installations finished.

And here's what it looks like with a gloss black bar. You can choose to wire the lights up however you would like. However, we chose to wire it up to the trail rocker. Now we're gonna see how bright they are.

Here and you can see just how bright it really is. There's no other lights on. This is just the light bar with the five lights on it. Now here's what it looks like with the headlights and fog lights. As you can see, the five LED cubes are incredibly bright. It's really gonna help with going off road. Our Rugged Ridge Hood Light Kit is installed. It's incredibly bright and the black goes really well with our Jeep. Installation's gonna take you about 45 minutes, and before you know it you'll be heading off road.
