Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing As mentioned by others the tensioner hits the alternator. On mine the "A" bracket also hits the alternator and limits the alternator from fully swinging in towards the water pump. I was barely able to squeeze the belt over the pulley grooves. Even with that tight of a fit I was unable to tighten the belt without the tensioner hitting the alternator too. I ended up using the old Ford alternator bracket to make it work. It looks better than the stock bracket but not worth what I paid. I would recommend you not buy this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bottom tensioner hits alternator 69 302 with original alternator - the bottom tensioner hits the alternator fan. It is also very close to the water pump pulley but with the spacer provided it manages to clear. Another big problem is that the bolts supplied for the tensioner are too short - I reused the originals.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money As mentioned by Moodster, the tensioner bolts are too short. I could not get the V belt tight. I was in a bind and had no backups, so I had to buy a new tensioner from a local speed shop. I hope Scott Drake reads this so they can improve this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Do your homework This bracket with bolts will only fit factory V belt set up. I had to purchase longer bolts to accommodate a Gilmer belt drive set up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality A lot of hardware for the price. The turn buckle allowed for adequate belt adjustment. The finish was free of any imperfections. If you have swapped heads there could be a miss alignment for the 3/8 bolt that goes into the head. I had to enlarge one of the water pump bolt holes because I have an odd ball engine. It made my engine look great. They supplied extra spacers so that the Alternator could be adjusted for proper belt alignment. Very nice.

Since the 70 mustang has the water pump outlet on the driver side - will this fit?

Asked by: Brian427
what bracket would you use for the water pump outlet on the driver side and will a alternator bracket work if it is coded a 69 for a 1970 302 and did ford change the angle of the brackets between 1969 and 1970

Why the cast iron water pump spec? Will it work with an aluminum edelbrock pump?

Asked by: jeremy
As long as it drops on the passenger side and has a backing plate. Ford aluminum pumps don't have the same bolt pattern because they don't have a backing plate.
