Scott Drake Dual-Outlet Header Kit for all 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1973 Mustangs with a 170 or 200 6-Cylinder Engine.

When it comes to performance items hitting the market, the inline 6-cylinder engine is the last application that pops into your head. Although the 200 and 250 are reliable and economical engines, they offer little when it comes to raw performance. Scott Drake has changed the way we look at 6-cylinders with this Dual-Outlet Header Kit C3OZ-9430-H2 for all 1965-1973 Mustangs with either a 170 or 200 6-cylinder engine.

A dual-outlet header like this one is recommended for 6-cylinder engines, especially if no other modifications will be made and can also be used on Mustangs with Hi-Po camshafts, a 2V carburetor or a Pertronix Ignitor. Get this awesome, Dual-Outlet Header--sporting gorgeous, nickel-plated tubing--from CJ Pony Parts and see the results firsthand!

Kit Includes:
- Single port, nickel-plated headers
- 2.5” Collectors
- 1.5” Primaries
- All necessary gaskets
- All necessary mounting hardware

*This Dual Outlet Header will NOT work on 250 6-Cylinder Engines.

Scott Drake believes that a properly modified 6-cylinder will put out as much usable low RPM horsepower as a standard V8 and can be just as fun to drive! The primaries on this dual-outlet header have an outside diameter of 1-1/2,” and the collectors measure 2-1/2” in outside diameter. The dual-outlet is for Mustang enthusiasts that have a 6-cylinder engine but want that classic look and the beefy, impressive sound of a V8. The installation of this Scott Drake Dual-Outlet Header Kit for your Mustang will improve both your horsepower production and the fuel economy.

Please Note: A Port Divider EXPD6 (available from CJs), will smooth out the air flow between the #3 and #4 cylinders and can increase horsepower up to 5-10 percent!

Tech Tip: This header kit requires the installation of a custom head pipe to go from the header to the intermediate pipe, as no direct replacement pipe is available for this specific header.

Order a Scott Drake Dual-Outlet Header Kit C3OZ-9430-H2 for your 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972 or 1973 Mustang with a 170 or 200 6-Cylinder Engine from CJ Pony Parts today!

Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke Starter Motor This header has a nice finish and when matched up with Flowmasters Super 40 sounds like a V8, but the rear primary tube touches the ORIGINAL starter motor which after installation and it's first test drive (10 miles) has resulted in a broken starter motor. So now the car is off the road again and im not sure how to solve this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sounding header This header makes my six sound like an 8. I had to switch to an adjustable mini starter and had to bore additional holes to get it to fit without touching. Unfortunately I had to take the headers on and off about eight times to get it right. Kind of messed up the nice chrome looks with so many hand prints. Finally works right, but it would be nice if you would tell people which starter to use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Header install review Happy with the product but needed a very hard to find mini starter before I could install it. Disappointed that this glitch was not brought to my attention before I made the purchase. Still dealing with getting this issue resolved. Live and learn I guess..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CJPonyParts made it right The headers are great. Look great, sound great. However, when they arrived, the gasket was torn. CJPonyParts had a new gasket in my garage's hands the next day.

Purchased headers from you (Scott Drake: C3OZ-9430-H2 ). They are to go on my 70 Mustang 250. They will not even make contact with the head as they hit starter a lot. What should we do, try another set ? Exhaust shop says send them back.

I have heard/read that the throttle rod will hit the header. What do you suggest to fix?

Asked by: Cory
I had this issue with my 65 inline 6 that also had the problem with the OEM starter touching the header. I modified my throttle rod and repositioned the return spring to avoid the headers and it works fine. I also put in an adjustable mini-starter. It was so hard to find an OEM with the solinoid bump in the correct position that going with a mini-starter now makes more sense than OEM. Figuring out which starter to use and all the re-positioning was a pain, but the end sound was worth it. Everyone who hears it now agrees it is the best sounding 6 they have ever heard.
