Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Service, Outstanding Product I could not be happier with the Scott Drake heater core I purchased. It is of highest quality, and the installation was a breeze - thanks to the online how-to instructions in your site. Customer service was also exceptional, and the part arrived at my home address in a timely manner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from heater give good hot air I changed my old heater because the original was full of metal micro parts... and the heater didn't work. Now all is very good. The only pb (like someone else said) is the spacing between 2 output pipe. They aren't as original, so you need to file the heater box but it isn't so complicate to do it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product Was replacing my heater box and hated to put a 50 year old heater core back in to have in leak in a few months. I bought this on sale. It was a great deal and looks like a quality product that I hope I wont have to replace for many years.

Product Questions

Is there any possibility of getting the dimensions for this core? I looks like it may work in a 1964 Avanti. In fact, the brass/copper core C5DZ-18476-A looks exactly the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Asked by: mike26
The core measures 2" thick, 6" wide and 9" high. The inlet/outlet tubes are 5/8" OD. The tubes are 1 3/4" in length.

Does the slight difference in the tubes effect them protruding through the heater box two tube openings?  What & where is the slight difference? Can you e-mail me your answer? Is it comparable durability wise to copper? Thanks, Bob

Asked by: Bobaloo
The spacing of the tubes is slightly different than the original, and the core is slightly longer. The tubes will still protrude out of the box correctly. the aluminum will hold up just as well as the copper.

Hose placement is "different".  What does that mean?  New holes in the firewall?   "Also available in the original brass and copper version".  Where???

Asked by: Cheapsnake
HC10 is the original style, and it is what i would recommend using.
